Summary/Abstract: As representative of the professors teaching Romanian as foreign language, I think that an analysis on the difficulties in learning Romanian offers viable solutions to overpass some of the phonetic, morphological and lexical issues that foreign students encounter while studying Romanian as foreign language within the UTCB-APLR program (foreign students from African, Asian, European and Latin American countries). The mistakes I most frequently see in foreign students highlight the necessity to create specific books for them, dedicated to foreign students, which can ease their comprehension and acquisition of the Romanian linguistic structures and enable connections with similar structures from their native language. As such, during the learning process, the texts and the lexical and grammar activities must be adapted to these specific demands. Besides grammar and lexical difficulties, as representative of the professors who teach the Romanian language as foreign language, I think that the pragmatic aspects should also be considered through some communication strategies that are adapted to pragmatic and intercultural elements.
