Shaping the values of children and youth in the socio-emotional conditions of the contemporary family

Summary/Abstract: A family is a natural and socio-emotional environment for a child. It is where the personal characteristics of the young generation are shaped, and also where the system of their values is shaped. The aim of the work is to analyse some selected elements of family life in shaping the children’s system of values. The emotional ties in the family, home atmosphere, family dialogue as well as parental authority and parental influences are analysed. The family environment and parents, in the socialisation and axiological spheres, affect the child in two parallel ways. The first interaction path is unconscious and takes place through normal daily interactions between family members, whereas the second path of parental interactions is conscious, through the use of specific educational methods and by creating and organising purposeful axiological situations.
