Theoretical Foundations of Border Control Management

Summary/Abstract: This article provides an initial principled vision of the theoretical underpinnings of border control management. Its goal is to introduce the scientific community to the problems of the peripheral security system of the European Union and Bulgaria, which is facing huge challenges - military conflicts, migration escalation, reconfiguration of spaces, hybrid wars, terrorism and cross-border crime. It is obvious that the border control needs to be rebuilt quickly, according to the circumstances especially on the eastern borders of the EU. This will require a new methodology, research and a competition to win the best ideas.
