Summary/Abstract: S. Stašaitis reviewed Arūnas Gumuliauskas’ study “Lithuania’s History (1795-2009)”, published in 2010. The reviewer is of the opinion that A. Gumuliauskas’ study is a significant contribution to the published works for the public at large, i.e. for pupils, students, teachers, and all those readers who are interested in the history of their nation and state. The study is a textbook, a book at hand which provides its readers with the picture of the country’s historical development during the last two hundred years, delineates the major periods in its political life as well as the events, phenomena and processes characteristic of these periods. The focus on a wide historic panorama of Lithuania’s history in the 19th-20th centuries encourages readers to take a closer interest in their own history as well as to study it.
