Summary/Abstract: The Human Stain is a novel of an extraordinary identity performance because of this intertwining of selves which later come to build Coleman’s personality in its integrity. Identity performance means the continuous change of states and the progressive description of the differences which occur, and also the rewriting of identity, its permanent reinterpretation in multiple perspectives.
