Summary/Abstract: My article will mainly focus on the notion of body image, psychologically defined as a major component of the self image and an important part in the process of creating an identity. I offer a history of the concept of identity, and I comment on place the body in the construction of identity. The psychological and philosophical impact of our body image may help to create/modify/deconstruct our self image and our identity. This is the reason for which I consider that it is interesting to study the body image in nowadays culture in this article.
