Summary/Abstract: In the present article, the author initiates a discussion beginning with the premise that the postmodern paradigm is theorized as a reaction to the philosophical assumptions of the Enlightenment and Modernism, taking into account the divergent comprehension of the notions of liberty, moral law or duty. The article is intended to point out in a critical manner the differences between two antagonistic paradigms, Postmodernism and the ethical doctrine of the liberal thinker, Immanuel Kant, the author who provided the intellectual foundation for the Modernism.
