Summary/Abstract: The paper reconstructs the actions of the Serbian Council of Commi‐ ssioners and the „Government of National Salvation” in the field of the foundation and organization of the propaganda institutions in occupied Serbia during the second half of 1941. Through the Council of Commissioners and later through Nedić’s government, the occupation authorities intended to achieve tightly controlled management of the national authorities’ propa‐ ganda. The image of Serbia was carefully created in the German propaganda centers and the Serbian Propaganda Department of the Ministerial Council Presidency. The collaborationist press published on a daily bases articles about situation on the fronts, including the Balkan battlefield and the analysis of the military, political and economic situation in occupied Serbia. The main goal of the activity of Milan Nedić’s government and its tasks were subordi‐ nated to German interests, especially in the field of economic propaganda, whereas the propaganda pertaining to the cultural and educational policy of Milan Nedić’s government was given free rein. The holder of some of the propaganda activities was the Ministry of Education and Faith, which cooperated with the Propaganda Department in supervising publications, film screenings and radiophonic shows. Another unavoidable factor in the propaganda activities of Nedić’s government was the Ministry of Economy.
