Plain language in the City of Poznań: good practices

Summary/Abstract: The issue of plain language or plain Polish has existed in Polish linguistic research for overa decade. The plain language movement is present on a large scale in public administration,but also in banks, other service providers, and enterprises. An example of a comprehensiveintroduction of this language standard is the City of Poznań, which is committed to changingits model of communication with citizens. This article presents the measures taken by itsadministration as well as the benefits and difficulties emerging at the individual stages ofimplementing plain language.
