Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyse the position of churches and the influence of religion in the public and political life of the Czech Republic after 1989. Attention is also focused on the relationship between churches and political parties, the calls of churches to participate in elections and whether they called for the support of specific political parties. The study also looks at the recruitment of political leaders from the church’s hierarchy and major Christian issues in the public agenda, media and politics. The study is linked to additional sources and literature.
