Summary/Abstract: In this study the author has presented the development of onomastics in Montenegro as well as the inportance of toponymy in studying the language history. There are also presented and analyzed the works concerung onomastics (material from Montenegro) and they are publicated in authorized magazine „Onomatoloski prilozi“. Further analzsis showed exisistance of a great number of studies, articles and material from varions arcas in Montenegro.
