Action of the police authorities in the event of traffic accidents

Summary/Abstract: The article introduces us to some of the specific activities related to the investigation of traffic accidents by the police. First of all, the main obligations of the participants in traffic accidents, as well as the police authorities who visit them are considered. Next, we consider the specific actions of police officers when visiting traffic accidents with material damage, as well as those that constitute a crime within the meaning of the Criminal Code (with dead and injured). A special place is given to the identification of witnesses - eyewitnesses to the accident, as well as to the search and detention of a participant who left the scene. Guidelines for dealing with conflict situations that have arisen at the scene are also presented.
