INFLUENCE OF URANIUM WASTE DUMPS FROM BARZAVA AND RĂNUŞA AREA ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

Summary/Abstract: Sustainable development involves along other aspects the care for searching such ways of development that do not affect health of human communities, of persons and of environment. As in Arad County, during the last third of the 20th century attempts for mining radioactive raw materials were carried out, it was considered necessary to check the effect of the mineral residues having a low radioactivity on the health of local population. The laboratory tests proved that the effect of the mineral residues on adult people does not exist, but it is necessary to avoid contact of children with that material. It is also necessary a continuous monitoring of that residues for preventing their illegal use in any way.
