Summary/Abstract: In modern economies, and thus in enterprises, more and more importance is attached to the ethical regulations for conducting business activity. One of the tools for impressing such principles (especially within the framework of corporate social responsibility) are the codes of ethics that regulate the standards of decision-making by the managerial staff, employee behavior or the functioning of the organization in the economic and social environment. The aim of the article is to present the idea of ethical codes as an element of corporate social responsibility. It was based on the literature on the subject in this area and the results of secondary research on the specificity of the functioning of ethical codes in Polish enterprises.
