Summary/Abstract: On the one hand, the author presents a first attempt to synthesize the historiography regarding the situation of Bistrița-Năsăud County during the Interwar period (1918–1940).First of all, some syntheses, dedicated to certain fields, are presented: the conquests of technology for the benefit of the population, the electricity, the postal and telegraph services, the means of transport and communication, the exploitation of green gold, a significant wealth of the area. Then, the author offers the radiography of the past of two important localities of the county, Bistrița and Năsăud, and the monographic research of the past of many localities of the county. On the other hand, for the first time at the national level, an introspection into the past of two important institutions were carried out: the Prefecture, representing the central administration, and the County Council, representing the local administration. The studies dedicated to certain aspects / temporary segments from the interwar period were also, productive. We can notice a consistent historiographical production, defined by the analysis of the beginning of the period and the documentary syntheses from the periods of King Charles II(1938–1940) and the fateful ones, from the summer of 1940.
