Summary/Abstract: This study includes a selection of didactic texts belonging to the three synoptic gospels, i.e. the Gospel according to St John, the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles of Paul, the Apostle and the ecclesiastical letters. Some of these are accompanied by a series of comments (as footnotes) meant to facilitate a better understanding of the context, meaning and purpose according to which they have been chosen. The fragments selected from the Gospels are Christocentric, meaning they focus on Jesus Christ’s person and personality as the embodied Son of God, on the one hand, or the Son of man, on the other. The other texts are either ecclesiocentric, having at their core the image of the Christian Church, or they simply refer to the christian who dedicates his life to Christ, in order to reach the humanity of the Son of God. // The Holy Bible has been the focus of human thought for many centuries. What has been written about it fills up thousands of libraries all over the world. Its contents are capable of offering answers to still unasked questions or profound human expectations, opening bright perspectives to God, as a human being’s final goal in life. The New Testamnt is the path to this aim, opened by the embodied Son of God to the benefit of man. Many generation have striven to follow that way. Dear reader, I hereby urge you to give it a try!
