Summary/Abstract: The communist doctrine attempted to change the world. Everything was supposed to undergo a process of transformation, the nature, the society, and even the human being. Although the principles which formed the basis of communism professed equality of all people, the communist mythmaking ideology needed heroes in order to justify and illustrate its own historical project. Consequently, the providential character became the central core of the communist system. This paper deals with the Communist myth of “great people”, taking into discussion Ceauşescu’s dictatorship and the way it is reflected in Morman Manea and Andrei Codrescu’s docu-fictional narratives.
