Does Envy Influence the Enterprise Potential and the Entrepreneurial Intentions?

Purpose: The aim of this paper is to examine the impact of envy on the enterprise potential and the entrepreneurial intentions. This topic is not much studied, but it is important to examine all aspects of complex networks of influence on enterprise potential and the entrepreneurial intentions.Design/methodology/approach: The survey was conducted in Serbia. The subjects were students from 5 faculties, from the first to the fifth year of study. Collected were about 380 completed questionnaires. Correlation and regression analysis are the methods of statistical analysis that were used. The survey was conducted using three separate questionnaires: questionnaire measuring envy (8 items, 1 dimension), questionnaire measuring enterprise potential (18 items, 4 dimensions) and questionnaire measuring entrepreneurial intentions (15 items, 3 dimensions).Findings: Between envy and dimensions of enterprise potential and dimensions of entrepreneurial intentions there is a number of statistically significant negative correlations. This is more prevalent at the dimension of entrepreneurial intentions. Feelings of inferiority in relation to other people, the perception of having a boring or a bad life, has an especially negative impact on the entrepreneurial potential and intentions. Envy, which occurs due to the desire for more entertainment, travel, and due to the perception of the lack of fortune, also has a negative impact on the entrepreneurial potential and intentions, but the influence is considerably weaker.Research/practical implications: Some results suggest the possibility (however small) that envy, in some circumstances, can mildly encourage entrepreneurial intention. Based on these results, the recommendation is to recognize people whose envy is not strong and where there is a possibility that such envy can be turned into motivation. With adequate support and understanding, these people may be potential, future entrepreneurs.Originality/value: Determining the impact of envy on the enterprise potential and the entrepreneurial intentions in the case of Serbian students.

Web 4.0, Fourth industrial revolution, Globalisation, Mediatisation and Computers:all of them have an impact on today’s social interactions. Their reflections on the way we think, as well as the presumption there is a form of artificial intelligence that affects human communication,are matters discussed in an increasing number of scientific and practical research papers. Our everyday life becomes increasingly dependent on the media, which leads to the problem of managing the effects of the computer-mediation in the Web. Unknown variables become an important way of psychologically influencing mass perceptions and beliefs in a desired direction. Artificial intelligence interferes with our meta-communication ever more frequently.In the present paper, existing psychological concepts are applied to a wide range of practical examples from everyday life, so as to explore the nature of some of the unknown variables faced by today’s media. Furthermore, featured is an, at least partial, discussion of the threats posed by overlooking computer-mediated intrusions in the mainstream and other media effects.

Ракурси към славянското в съвременните преподавания по антропология и етнология в България и Чехия

This text tracks the development of Anthropology and Ethnology teaching centered on Slavic cultures in Bulgarian and Czech universities, from the XIXth century to the present day, focusing on their contemporary state. A detailed analysis is made on the teaching curriculum in different educational institutions, based on the comparative approach. So, we come to the conclusion that these disciplines are taught not only in cultural but also in linguistical majors. In both countries they are not, with few exceptions, widespread and in the Czech universities, unlike in Bulgarian, there are practically no separate courses on these topics. Another conclusion is made on the fact that in Bulgaria, the majors and master programs related to Anthropology don't usually include such courses, while they are present in the Czech Republic, although narrowed down to specific topics and historical direction. A third conclusion is that both in Bulgaria and in the Czech Republic, the majors and master programs related to Ethnology don't, as a rule, include such courses. Finally, they are best represented in the linguistical majors in both countries (although it is hardly to observe common principles), which demonstrates the preservation, to this day, of the "classical" XIXth century model.

The paper discusses certain aspects of the conceptualization of the border in Anthropology and, more broadly, in the Social Sciences. The border is viewed as a dynamic social construction. The focus is on the geopolitical borders – their spatiotemporal dimensions and their relations with the construction of political entities, ethnic groups and identities form the basis for the analysis. The major issues of discussion comprise the dialectics between space and social reality in constructing borders; the ambiguity and ambivalence of the border; the temporal dynamics of the border, i.e. the border as a process, practices, and procedures; the interplay between borders and communities.

INTEGRATED APPROACH TO TEACHING ENGLISH FOR THE GROWTH MINDSET TRAINING

The paper is designed to analyze the advantages of the integrated approach to teaching English, referring to some data gathered within a three-month period in two schools from the Republic of Moldova. It starts with the rationale, underlining the importance of the growth mindset development in today’s education. The growth mindset theory is mostly based on the investigations made by C. Dweck (2006) and D. Sousa and T. Pilecki (2018). It presents a modest research that points to the connection between the teacher’s mindset and the development of the similar mindset at the learners that are in his/her class. Finally, it shows a way to develop the growth mindset through the integration of Science, Technology, Math, Engineering in teaching English from early age.

AGRESSIVENESS ASSESSMENT IN PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN

We consider it very important to assess children’s behaviour and implicitly to understand their way of acting in order to find the most efficient methods and be a continuous support for them. This study aims to observe the behaviour of primary school students with the purpose of assessing their levels of aggressiveness. Being part of the educational system, as physical education teachers, we have always been interested in how children manifest in different situations during school hours. The main method used consisted in determining the 2D:4D ratio, which may have implications for children’s behaviour, and gather information about the students’ ways of acting, which was obtained by summarising the data from a questionnaire applied to teachers who had daily contact with them. The use of this method made it possible to monitor and measure their aggressiveness levels, the purpose being to intervene in the long term in favour of children with behavioural predispositions by implementing different ways of self-control. We will present some results of the study regarding the average value of aggressiveness, the mean deviation and the 2D:4D ratio for both hands: 0.983 ± 0.0410 for the left hand and 0.996 ± 0.047 for the right hand in boys, and 0.989 ± 0.003 for the left hand and 994 ± 0.039 for the right hand in girls. In terms of aggressiveness ratio, boys recorded 2.28 ± 1.33, and girls, 1.847 ± 1.103.

ACTION RESEARCH IN LANGUAGE TEACHING: PRACTITIONER REFLECTIONS

Action research (AR) can be more rewarding for teachers when theyhave a community in which to share their ongoing process and discussinterventions, methods, and findings. This article presents teachers’ reflectionson their Fall 2020 action research studies, when they were teaching online andadapting practices to the “new normal.” The teachers were enrolled in a graduate-level seminar on AR in which they conducted research in theirindividual teaching contexts and met regularly in critical friends groups. After asummary of the seminar design, the teacher researchers individually discusstheir personal and professional learning from the course and research process.We conclude with recommendations for implementing AR in language teachereducation programs.

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING FOR INCREASED STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

Project-based learning is an inquiry-based teaching method which utilizes student projects as the primary vehicle for delivering and reinforcing content, course goals, objectives and learning experiences. While many teachers include projects in their courses, not all teachers practice project-based learning. Traditional approaches to teaching use didactic methods where the teacher assumes the primary role of knowledge provider. The teacher delivers lecture-based content to the students who spend most of the instructional time listening and recording notes. Project-based learning, in contrast, allows the teacher and student to assume the role of knowledge provider and the learning is reinforced through student or team work on a project associated with and driven by the content. This manuscript presents a reasoned list of the principles of project-based learning, as well as a comparison of project-based learning to other student-centered learning approaches.

Communication designates the basis of interpersonal connections manifested by the ability to permanently interpret the meaning of social contacts made with the help of symbols and social-generalized meanings in order to achieve balance or changes in individual or group behavior. A complex and universal phenomenon, communication can be analyzed from various theoretical perspectives. It can be explained by psychologists as behavior, by sociologists as a determined factor of socialization, by anthropologists as a means of accomplishing and transmitting culture, by semioticians as a process of adjustment and reconfiguring the meanings of signs, etc. Living creatures communicate in one form or another, but humans are the only beings who use language. It can be considered a structured system of symbols - words - used to communicate meanings. Although the vast majority of people are born with verbal skills, language needs to be learned, and language skills improve as they are practiced and learned about, as are most skills acquired. Words are fundamental elements of verbal communication and have a profound influence on how we relate to others. Finding the right word can be difficult in the most common circumstances, but using language appropriately makes it easier to achieve goals in interpersonal relationships and beyond.

COMUNICAREA INTERPERSONALĂ – ELEMENT FUNDAMENTAL AL EXISTENȚEI UMANE

Since ancient times, communication has been perceived as a fundamental element of human existence. The very etymology of the term suggests this: the word “communication” comes from Latin, “communis” means “to agree”, “to be in touch with” or “to be in a relationship”, although the term circulates in the vocabulary of the ancients with the meaning to “pass on to others”, “to share something with others”. The communication process is one of the indispensable conditions for the functioning and organization of society. The individual is called a social being and relates to the other insofar as he communicates with the other. Interpersonal communication is the most important and most frequently used form of communication. People cannot avoid this type of communication; their social existence depends on the ability with which they can engage in discussions with others. Family life, relationships with friends, professional activity, all depend on this quality. Interpersonal communication refers to face-to-face communication. This type of communication is important to understand yourself and to build your relationships with others. To achieve this, the capacity for self-analysis, selfknowledge, self-exposure and knowledge of barriers and disruptive factors that hinder the communication process must be developed. Not every relationship with a person is interpersonal. Most of the relationships we have with our peers are impersonal. In these interactions, the interlocutor is approached exclusively in terms of his social status or the role he plays in the given situation, without taking into account his individual features that give him uniqueness.
