Между носталгията по социализма и свободния достъп до европейския пазар на труда

Author(s): Nadezhda Zhechkova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2017

The article draws attention to some aspects of the political culture of the Bulgarian Turks. On one hand, there is a pronounced nostalgia for socialism associated with the individual security and economic stability. On the other hand, the positive assessment of European integration is understood as free access to Western European labor markets. How does the “economic” factor influence the political culture of this population at the beginning of the XXI century?

In this article the application of Sharia law over the Muslim population of Vardar Macedonia is demonstrated. The application of Sharia Law form the establishment of Ottoman rule until the end of the Second World War is directly related to functioning of state Sharia courts. In this era the Sharia law is part of the positive law. With the change in the historical and political context in the aftermath of First World War, the Sharia court have been included in the Yugoslavian secular state as a structure, relatively independent form the Muslim religious authority, which is based on principles of spiritual hierarchy. Its application have had a positive impact, preserving the Muslim population`s identity. After the Second World War the Sharia court are dismissed. From the legal-normative point of view it is not possible to state that this is Sharia law, because there is a lack of state coercion, which is one of the prerequisites to talk about law. After this point, the essence of sharia ruling is preserved via moral relations and obligations, customs and traditions and the work of the religious institutions as well.

Записки по Русо: „Свободното възпитание“ – проект или утопия

Author(s): Veska Guviiska / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 9/2017

The paper offers a new interpretation on Rousseau in the context of Richard Rorty’s concepts on the philosophy of language and the linguistic turn developed at the end of the 20th century. The classical interpretation of Rousseau’s ideas of freedom in view of upbringing as a rule juxtaposes nature and culture. The present paper argues that this opposition can be overcome through the application of the metaphor approach to both upbringing and the value-neutral character of language. In this sense the question to be answered is how the languages of the teacher and of the student co-exist in Rousseau’s ideas and what the mechanism is that turns these languages into means of upbringing. The research employs arguments in favour of the hypothesis that in terms of the metaphor of “upbringing” created by Rousseau in Emile or on Education, the concepts language of nature and language of society overlap.

Author(s): Mihal Pavlov,Milena Yordanova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 6/2023

In this article, the object of interest is the linguodidactological simulations in the process of learning a foreign language. In the context of the leading modern trends in the field of research in private linguodidactology, an attempt is made to outline the figure of the foreign language teacher as a “methodical screenwriter” and the tasks he performs to optimize the mastery of communicative competence through the perspective of linguodidactology simulations. The methodology used is analysis of sources, observation of positive practices and modeling of techniques for transposition of a linguistic-communicative fragment of reality in the learning process of a foreign language. Based on an analysis of achievements in the field of theory and practice of interactive foreign language learning, guidelines are formulated for the development of various types of simulation activities for mastering the studied language, in which the learner acquires a leading role in the learning process. A model for a widely applicable linguistic didactic simulation in the conditions of active foreign language learning is proposed and the main activities that should be performed to achieve positive results from its application in the learning process are outlined.

Наука и война – 1912 – 1913 г.

Author(s): Kalin Ranchev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3S/2023

In 1912 – 1913 Bulgaria fought the Balkan Wars. These were wars of national unification fought in territories with Bulgarian population. Therefore, among all the other issues that the representatives of the Bulgarian authorities had to face, they also had to take care of the study and preservation of cultural and historical monuments. This was all the more necessary as these territories were free for the first time and came within the borders of the Bulgarian state. And this would mean that the individual monuments had to be registered, their scientific importance assessed, and measures taken for their preservation. This led to the idea of organizing several scientific expeditions to Thrace, Macedonia and Dobrudja, in which the most eminent Bulgarian scientists were involved. During the wars, Dr. Bogdan Filov was commissioned to lead a scientific mission to Eastern Thrace and Macedonia to uncover, describe and collect archaeological and ethnographic monuments.

A comparison is made between the facts transmitted through personal memories and the official (archival) documents of the division: relations, operational orders, reports, etc. The goal is to clarify in the most accurate and historically accurate way the reasons that led to the disbandment of the division, as well as to emphasize the heroism of its ranks who remained loyal to their oath to the King and the Fatherland.

The Just-In-Time Approach Applied to E-Language Learning

Author(s): Cristina Sáiz Enfedaque,Antonio Martinez de Baños Carrillo / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2024

From industry to teaching, being competent implies knowing how to do things in a complex, adaptable, and reflective way in a variety of contexts. It involves the integration of knowledge, procedures, attitudes, and values whose mastery and application change throughout life. Besides this idea of being adaptable, we want to add the “just-in-time approach” (JIT approach), which had a boom during the pandemic of COVID-19 and which focused on providing learners with the language skills and knowledge they needed at the precise moment they required to accomplish a specific task or communicate effectively in real-life situations. Unfortunately, it also proved that a generation gap existed between 20-year-old students and their teachers of older generations. Current officer cadets have not lived without mobile phones or the Internet which drastically have changed the way we communicate and had a significant impact on our lives. New technologies made communication more accessible and convenient with beloved ones, colleagues, and the conduct of business operations. Networking was not only advisable but a must and the pandemic proved how useful online teaching was and how well-adapted our cadets were. New technologies made it possible to access the Internet from anywhere, providing instant access to information, entertainment, and services.

ABSENTEEISM AND SCHOOL DROPOUT - A CHALLENGE OF THE DIGITAL AGE

ABSENTEEISM AND SCHOOL DROPOUT - A CHALLENGE OF THE DIGITAL AGE

Author(s): Ionela Maria Toda,Cristian Marian Ciorăneanu / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 40/2025

The digital era has brought us many things to enjoy, shortening the time for most activities undertaken by humans. Technology and digitalization have provided several advantages in education, but also a series of consequences, a flip side of the coin. One of the consequences we can observe in the Romanian educational environment, and not only there, is absenteeism or school dropout. This article aims to explain the practical aspects of this phenomenon, discussing the main causes and anchoring itself in the everyday reality of the educational phenomenon, addressing a topic of great importance for students, parents, and teachers as the main actors, as well as for the entire society that they shape and influence in the future. This phenomenon is not new and has been addressed multiple times in recent decades, and through this article, we want to review newer aspects that theory does not sufficiently pay attention to in the daily life of the triangle formed by students, parents, and teachers. We aim for a serious reflection and a profound problematization of the issues arising from absenteeism and school dropout in society as a whole, focusing on existing solutions and the prevention of this phenomenon.
