Šta je posao novinara?

Ako se zapitamo zašto postoje novinari, očigledan je odgovor da novinari pružaju jednu bitnu uslugu — izveštavaju o vestima. U mnogim oblastima svog života donosimo odluke na osnovu informacija za koje nemamo sredstava ni znanja da ih sami prikupimo, već u tome svakodnevno zavisimo od profesionalnih novinara. Novinari prikupljaju podatke i izveštavaju o vestima da bismo ih mi dalje koristili. Kao i u slučaju svake druge dragocene i potencijalno opasne supstance, čistoća informacija je od najveće važnosti. U prvom delu ove knjige videćemo da se celokupna novinarska etika može sažeto predstaviti kao obaveza novinara da u najvećoj mogućoj meri izveštavaju istinito o stvarima relevantnim za javni interes.

Experts’ Insights. The Western Balkans in the Mirror of the EU’s and Geopolitical Challenges

Western Balkans (WB) encompass six countries: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Kosovo, Montenegro (MNE), Albania and North Macedonia (WB6). Given the importance of the Balkans for the European Union (EU), particularly in the light of recent geopolitical developments, the importance of the Ukraine war looms into importance and turns into watershed for WB-EU relations. The focus is therefore on the impact of the Ukraine war, but also that of the European Parliament’s (EP) elections on the WB-EU relationship. The analysis of these relations extends into a modest forecast for future developments outlining two possible scenarios depending on the development of the EU itself: a renewed and strong EU with a focus on integration or continued stagnation and growing nationalism with increase of centrifugal tendencies. The EU has the chance and the key opportunity to bring a positive change in the Western Balkans through strategic decisions and cooperation, thereby securing its own stability and prosperity. In the 13th century history of our country, there are holidays that we associate with great events. The Day of the National Awakeners, November 1st, is one of these holidays, although we do not associate it only with a specific event. It occupies a worthy place in the holiday calendar of Bulgarians. Many people believe that only our revivalists and writers can be called “awakeners”, but for me this concept is broader. In addition to the educators who worked in school and cultural institutions in the past, I also include: modern teachers who teach knowledge to adolescents; creators of books and textbooks; cultural figures who, with their potential, create music, dances, poetic and prose works; all people who today help to preserve and develop education and culture.
