The article is dedicated to the reflexions on the manner, in which the opinions formed by Jozef Ignacy Kraszewski in his statements concerning his writing path and the desired development directions of his literary career that date back to the 30s of the 20th century correspond with the first novels of this author that were created at the preliminary stages of Romantic tendencies taking shape in the national prose fiction. The main focus of the article are Mister Walery and Big World of a Small Town whose literary profile delineated by the autothematic comments as well, was confronted with the critical reflection of the author included in such article as A Quick Look at the Path I Took (1832) or On Polish Novelists (1836).

M.J. García García, A.M. Romito (eds.) Democracia europea y mercado único: 30 años del Tratado de Maastricht, Fondo Editorial Aranzadi, 2024. The book under review focuses on two of the most important aspects of the development of the EU integration process – the strengthening of the EU founding value of democracy and the achievement of the EU Single market objective following the entering into force of the Maastricht Treaty. The collective volume features authors coming from different national and academic backgrounds. The democracy-market nexus is approached from a number of perspectives, not always much explored in the past. The analyses seems to suggest that a durable evolution of the EU integration process can only be based on basic principles or founding values of the EU, like in the case of democracy, which is one of the most important ingredients for a European Single market, focused more on social and environmental issues rather than economic ones.

RAZGOVOR O KNJIZI DANIELA MARKOVIĆA PROMOTING A NEW KIND OF EDUCATION: GREEK AND ROMAN PHILOSOPHICAL PROTREPTIC

U nastavku predstavljamo tekst razgovora o knjizi Daniela Markovića, koji je održan na Institutu za filozofiju i društvenu teoriju, 10. maja 2023. godine. Daniel Marković predaje Klasične nauke na Univerzitetu u Sinsinatiju. Njegov istraživački rad obuhvata polja grčke i rimske retorike, filozofije, i poezije, sa posebnim osvrtom na način na koji ova tri sistema oblikuju obrazovne tekstove u antici. Objavio je radove o Lukreciju (uključujući i knjigu o Retorici objašnjenja u Lukrecijevom spevu O prirodi (The Rethoric of Explanation in Lucretious’ De rerum natura, Brill 2008), Vergiliju, pseudo-Vergilijevoj Etni, Horaciju, Marcijanu Kapeli, grčko-rimskoj retoričkoj teoriji i grčko-rimskom filozofskom protreptiku. Njegova knjiga Promocija nove vrste obrazovanja: Grčko-rimski filozofski protreptik (Promoting a New Kind of Education: Greek and Roman Philosophical Protreptic, Brill 2022) analizira grčka i rimska ohrabrenja na filozofiju kao prve tekstove zapadne književnosti koji sistematski razmatraju pitanje krajnjeg cilja obrazovanja. Trenutno priprema komentar na Ciceronov teoretski spis De partitione oratoria. Pored autora, učesnici razgovora bili su vanredna profesorka Sandra Šćepanović i redovni profesor Darko Todorović sa Odeljenja za klasične nauke Filozofskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu, zatim viši naučni saradnici i filozofi Igor Cvejić i Predrag Krstić sa IFDT-a, naučni saradnik i filozof Ivan Nišavić sa IFDT-a, naučna saradnica i filozofkinja Tamara Plećaš sa IFDT-a, i istraživačica saradnica i pedagoškinja Milica Sekulović sa IFDT-a. Razgovor je moderirala Tamara Plećaš. Struktura seminara bila je sledeća. Učesnici su bili podeljeni u dva bloka, a profesor Marković je imao priliku da odgovori na pitanja i komentare učesnika nakon svakog bloka pitanja/komentara. Uvodna reč prepuštena je profesoru Markoviću.

Годишњак за друштвену историју кроз историју

Пре тачно тридесет година, 1994, објављен је први број, прва свеска научног часописа Годишњак за друштвену историју. Корице су биле наранџасте боје, а намера је била да сваке године буду другачије. Тако би се три свеске, колико их је објављивано годишње, спојиле у један „годишњак“. Прва илустрација коју је Милан Ристовић одабрао за насловну страну била фотографија Милета Рајковића, Породични излет у Соко Бањи (1908). Председник часописа био је Андреј Митровић, главни и одговорни уредник Милан Ристовић, али, поред тога, свака свеска је посебно, првих пар година, имала и свог уредника међу тадашњим докторантима.1 Поред Митровића и Ристовића, редакцију часописа у почетку чинили су и Љубодраг Димић, Миле Бјелајац, Дубравка Стојановић, Мирослав Јовановић и Предраг Ј. Марковић.
