Człowiek ponowoczesny jako podstawowy problem nowej ewangelizacji

Człowiek ponowoczesny jako podstawowy problem nowej ewangelizacji

Author(s): Edward Sienkiewicz / Language(s): Polish Issue: 22/2015

The basic criterion for understanding new evangelization is the work of Jesus Christ. Announced by Him the close reign of God prejudges the novelty essence of His event to the Old Covenant and in the universalist sense. Another aspect of this novelty is every-time context that postmodernism belongs to and that is as a unique challenge to the mission of evangelization. For better understanding of the context we have to, first and foremost, carry out a historical investigation of Jesus, and then His disciples and the first teachers of the faith, that go out tomeet the ancient world with its culture which is characterized by universalistic aspirations. The most effective basis for the meeting of cultures and the Western civilization was Christianitythat puts in the center of learning the all requiring objective truth. The postmodernism that favours relativism and recognizes that truth impossible to determine, and the desire to knowher as dangerous, calls for a radical redefinition – the reconstruction of the image of reality. Its beginning is to be deconstruction understood as a negation of the existing cultural andcivilizational achievements. Unfortunately, postmodernists just stop at that point without offering any systematic and competitive vision of the world and of man. Postmodernism shouldtherefore be defined as a radical form of modern skepticism and the collapse of the meaning of pessimism which Christians must still resist still the current apologia – as a defense of faithand evangelization – as her testimony. The adjectival clarification – „a new apology” and „new evangelization” is dictated by their new context.

Etyka małżeńska w nauczaniu moralnym Piusa XII

Etyka małżeńska w nauczaniu moralnym Piusa XII

Author(s): Piotr Skiba / Language(s): Polish Issue: 22/2015

The problem of birth control was not one of the fundamental challenges that the Third Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops would take. In Relatio Synodi we can find a reference to this matter and a call to rediscover the message of the encyclical Humanae Vitae of Pope Paul VI, whose beatification took place at the end of the Synod. This pope, in his encyclical on moral principles in the field of transmission of human life, often refers to the speech of Pius XII to the medical community. By analyzing these statements we may notice that the pope Pacelli in his vision of conjugal ethics outlined the doctrinal basis based on the natural law and Divine Revelation, which turned out to be necessary to confront the teaching of the Church with such a complex issue that is the regulation of conception.

Author(s): Bogusław Śliwerski / Language(s): Polish Issue: 2/2009

The paper focuses on the role of the Institute of National Education set up in 1997 within Radio Maryja, an intellectual formation chosen by right-wing politicians. The Institute is interested in reforming education; it also questions the existing assumptions of education transformations relating to the model of the moral-shaping school or the societal role of pedagogical sciences. It engages in a variety of education forms, including National Education School, the Academy of Ethical Upbringing, the Academy of Social Abilities, the Summer School of Polish Culture, professional development classes as well as symposia and popular scientific lectures. The Institute is present in publishing. Moreover, it is responsible for organizing summer holidays and pilgrimages; it co-operates with the Redemptorists during retreat meetings. Yet another branch of the Institute is Feliks Koneczny Thought Club and the Maksymilian Kolbe School of Journalism. In the light of its prominence, the discussed movement should be able to contribute significantly to the debate on the education transformation.

Apologetic approach on the dialogue between faith and rationality by the Oriental Fathers

Apologetic approach on the dialogue between faith and rationality by the Oriental Fathers

Author(s): Ioniţă Apostolache / Language(s): English,Polish Issue: 1/2018

Only our Lord, Jesus Christ, the incarnated Word of the Father, made us, due to his quality as Pantocrator, to “overcome the autonomy of the natural world” and liberated us from the power of irrational forces. Therefore, the dialogue between theology and science is very important for our natural existence. Without science, modern man cannot exist within his earthly environment and without theology he is not given the possibility to enjoy eternal communion with God in the Kingdom of Heaven. This being the case, the Holy Scripture and the Holy Father also, unite the two elements; this unity being sheltered by faith, which is beyond reason and any type of autonomy.

The Ethos of Education and the Ethos of Christianity

The Ethos of Education and the Ethos of Christianity

Author(s): Pavol Dancák / Language(s): English Issue: 5/2017

The aim of the paper is to introduce transcendental dimension as a basic part of the education of a man. Greek thinking about man reaches its peak in conviction that education strive is based in getting as close to gods as possible. If man loses the transcendent dimension, he or she also loses a part of his or her humanity. Christianity brings very important optimism into the area of education, as God is Love and in Jesus Christ man gets another chance. Education understood as imitatio Christi contains implicitly this transcendent major.

The “Globalization Era” and the Right of the Church to Preach the Gospel to All Peoples. Canonical-Juridical Considerations and Assessments

The “Globalization Era” and the Right of the Church to Preach the Gospel to All Peoples. Canonical-Juridical Considerations and Assessments

Author(s): Cătălina Mititelu / Language(s): English Issue: 5/2017

Under the divine mandate (see Mt 28, 19; Mk 16, 15), the Church received from its Founder, our Saviour Jesus Christ, the right to preach His Gospel to all nations. In the first millennium, the Church Fathers gave expression to this divine law in the first millennial canonical ecumenical legislation (see Apostolic Canon 34, Apostolic 58, Trulan Synod 19, etc.). In the Roman-Byzantine era — and especially in the Byzantine era — this right was stipulated expressis verbis by the state legislation of the Roman Empire (West and East). The international Law and the EU law, including the law of the states from the “globalization era,” that is, our era, provided in their texts for the legal justification of any recognized religious denominations to make known its faith teachings, in writing or orally; hence the right of its members to establish confessional schools, in order to teach religion in state schools, and to carry out evangelization missionary activities.

Aktualność reformacyjnego przesłania we współczesnej etyce ewangelickiej

Author(s): Marcin Hintz / Language(s): Polish Issue: 11/2017

The Ethical Issue of the Reformer Martin Luther is still an important impulse for the Protestant Churches today. The article shows that Ethics does not belong to the largest part of Luther’s writing. There some different models of interpretation of Luther`s Ethics especially in the understanding of the relationship of Christians to the politics. The article is an attempt to find relevance of Luther`s Moral Thinking to the postmodern World. His moral advice is still present in the theological and Church discussion. On the other hand, the moral teaching of Luther is completely irrelevant to philosophical discourse.

Sakrament chrztu w służbie communio ecclesiae. Teologiczne i prawne aspekty kanonów 849-878 KPK (1983)

Author(s): Robert Ptak / Language(s): Polish Issue: 2/2018

The sanctifying task of the Church is carried out in a special way through the celebration of the sacraments. They were established by Jesus Christ and entrusted to the Church as the means by which faith is expressed and strengthen, worship is given to God and human sanctification is accomplished. They also contribute to the introduction, strengthening and external visibility of the ecclesial community (communio ecclesiae). The sacrament of baptism is the foundation of Christian life, the gateway to the other sacraments, and the foundation on which the community of the Church is built. Theological and legal aspects of canons 849-878 of the Code of Canon Law (1983) concern: the meaning and effects of the sacrament of baptism, the baptismal ordinances, the minister and the person receiving the sacrament, the baptismal ordinances, the confirmation and recording of the baptism received.
