In a developed market economy relations between economic entities from the private sector and public bodies, including spatial and administrative units, come down to purchases of goods and services as a result of which ownership titles to property are transferred between social groups, institutions and individuals. Operating mainly in order to fulfill residents’ needs, communes are full participants of the market. The idea behind management in self-government units should take into consideration the entrepreneurial mindset, especially in the decision-making process undertaken by self-government institutions. Being chiefly oriented at the recipients of council goods and services, a correct decision-making process ought to rely on the marketing viewpoint. The purpose of the paper is to reveal the essence of applying a marketing approach to the practice of managing local sustainable development in rural communes of the Ostrołęka- Siedlce subregion. The relevant subregion belongs to the richest regions in Poland and is part of the Mazovian Province. However, there is a high dispersion of the level of development in individual subregions in the area of the province. New Belgrade is the Belgrade City municipality separated from the “Old City” of Belgrade by the Sava River, and is one of the parts of the city characterized by a pronounced growth both economically (a large number of companies, shopping malls) and demographically (the continuous growth of new residential blocks and inhabiting of the same) in the last ten years or so. Yet, the first associations with New Belgrade are its characteristic social-realistic architecture (concrete buildings), a high population density, and a confusing subdivision into city blocks similar to the concept of American ghetto-like neighborhoods. The focus of our research presented herein is the analysis of the images of New Belgrade which are possible to find in the songs of hip-hop musicians from New Belgrade. Our basic starting thesis implies that music constructs the identity of a specific space or place, for which reason, in our approach, we are emphasizing its fundamental feature – communicativeness, and therefore it is not perceived from a musicological or aesthetical perspective. The primary research method we are relying on is the qualitative one, based on the analysis of the selected texts of the hiphop songs in which a mention is made of New Belgrade and which New Belgrade in presented in, based on which we endeavor to abstract a corpus of the meanings that are attributed to this part of Belgrade.

Contemporary world, as shown by both the scientific research and our everyday experiences, is a place of grave social inequalities and rapid degradation of our physical environment. Processes that have led to this are mostly explained on higher levels of abstraction. In this paper, I question them in the context of the processes of soci(et)al reproduction, and I show the relevance of Rudi Supek’s work in contemporary discussions.

The paper focuses on the presentation and analysis of activities aimed at improving the situation of the Romani community in Spišský Hrhov. We point out and explain that the conditions faced by local Roma cannot be perceived as ideal; that the whole situation must be analyzed in a complex plane in order to understand the real picture. Why, despite many years of community activities, most Roma continue to live in a separate settlement, and why the local majority still perceives the Roma as different.

The contribution have several aims. In addition to the discussion that follows variability of the concept of landscape and its relationship to the category of environment (particularly with regard to the urban environment, where it appears the concept of environment as a more adequate) the contibution focuses on the specific problem of the current aesthetics: transformation of aesthetic reflection of the city as a whole, which is realized by the contemporary aesthetics and philosophy through the Kantian aesthetics in Critique of Aesthetics Judgement. Elaboration of opinions of Marie Rubene and Miroslav Marcelli leads us not only to summarize the conclusions of recent theses, but further to reflect the transformation of (mega)city to a country, specific environment free from original effectiveness, where "human returns to natural and becomes a sort of huge subject, which is fluid in its inside ..."). Reflection is primarily guided by the category of sublime as an explanatory framework.

Cross-border economic relations are analysed by many researchers. However, the concepts of cross-border cooperation illustrated in the literature of regional studies do not present the EU market as a factor of cross-border economic relations. In consequence, it is necessary to carry out an in-depth analysis of the literature on cross-border cooperation and economic integration in order to capture the impact of the single market on cross-border relations. The aim of this study is to describe cross-border cooperation in the Polish-German border area, taking into account the economics of the single market.

Modern cities are developing dynamically in search of ever newer concepts of management. One of them, developed in Poland since the 1990s, is the concept of the marketing management of the city, which is based on the marketing mix concept. The city authorities also look for new sources of the competitive advantage (this is how the concept of slow city management was born). At the same time, in addition to competition, there is a desire for cooperation between cities, manifested by the development of the Cittàslow city network. The study identifies the marketing mix instruments of cities which are used by Polish cities after they joined the Cittàslow network. The method employed was a questionnaire survey, which was sent to 26 Polish Cittàslow member cities in 2017. It was observed that the greatest changes occur in the product strategies under which cities are obliged to develop these urban sub-products that are necessary for the city to function in accordance with the slow city philosophy. As part of promotional efforts, PR activities should be emphasised, whose aim is to create the image of a slow city. The “hospitality” of the city and openness to contacts with the external environment has also increased.

The article presents research results concerning young adults who leave home in the Municipality of Ljubljana. By considering already known patterns of young adults’ prolonged co-residence with their parents, the article aims to find out whether data on young adults from the Ljubljana municipality (2017) confirm what is already known or reveal changes or specific aspects. The results show: 1. a consistent picture of prolonged living in the family of origin (with gender, intimate partnership, employment as the main predictors); 2. paternal financial support even for young people who have left the parental home; and 3. a diverse and dynamic period of various living arrangements ranging between fully living in the family of origin and having one’s own full residential independence. The results point to a new characteristic of a greater share of young people living in privately rented apartments, which may be specific to the Ljubljana municipality.

Support for the first afforestation and creation of forested areas from the 2014-2020 National Programme for Rural Development taking into consideration the case of Țara Oașului, county of Satu Mare. The need of investment in afforestation in Țara Oașului is required to improve its environmental capital. The forest biodiversity indicators have to be improved after the increase of forested areas, as a result of the investment in the sustainable development of the region. The forest environmental indicators were calculated (forested surfaces, diversity indices of forest species and forestry species equity) and their values show the necessity of the afforestation in each administrative unit of Țara Oașului. The solution seemed to be the submeasure 8.1 of 2014-2020 National Programme for Rural Development, through grants as financial support for afforestation.
