Author(s): Agnieszka Dybowska / Language(s): English Issue: 134/2023

Youth migration can be considered in many aspects. More and more young people from third countries are moving to European countries on their own or with their parents, sometimes at a very young age or even in childhood. At the same time, more and more young Europeans are becoming mobile across the continent. In terms of public policy for youth, it should be noted that students and pupils from a migrant background often struggle with difficulties in adapting to new learning conditions. Social inclusion of all young people, including those with migrant backgrounds, is one of the priorities of EU public policies in the youth field. Nowadays, social inclusion is largely based on activities that do not allow for digital exclusion, because modern education is very closely related to modern technologies. The instruments for implementing public policy for youth involve various programs funded by the European Union. These programs play a very important role in the process of social inclusion of young people from migrant families. As a result of the research, using the method of institutional and legal analysis, it was concluded that the key recommendation is that all activities addressed to young people from migrant families should enable them to function well in youth communities.

A New Era of Civilizational Development Carries the Burden of Ensuring Life and Personal Integrity for 200% More People on Earth Today (4.9 bilion Hectares of Agricultural Land and Over 8 billion People in 2024) Compared to 50 Years Ago (4.5 bilion Hectares of Agricultural Land and 4 billion People in 1970). The needs of civilization are measured in billions of tons of goods and billions of units of services to ensure that life bearers on the planet, both in our time and in the future, can lead a somewhat normal life. It is a fact that an increasing number of the needs of new societies are becoming weapons in the hands of oppressors. It is possible to list many factors that threaten the life and survival of civilization. Science, politics, and strategy, each in their own way, are all trying to meet the demands of life. Solutions must and are being sought in technological achievements. This is the best. FROM PSYCHOPATHY TO EXPEDIENCY: UNRAVELLING THE MEDIATING ROLES OF ORGANISATIONAL CYNICISM AND MORAL DISENGAGEMENT IN LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS

Author(s): Aneu Yulianeu,Faizal Wihuda,Arief Adhy Kurniawan / Language(s): English Issue: 4/2024

The research conducted is grounded on the principles of social exchange (SET), social cognitive theory (SCT), and conservation of resources theories (COR). These theories enabled us to comprehend the indirect correlation between leader psychopathy and employee expediency. To validate our research, we surveyed three waves, collecting information from 282 hotel employees in Indonesia. The PLS-SEM technique was used to test the hypotheses. The results demonstrated evidence that leader psychopathy had a positive direct and indirect effect on employee expediency through organisational cynicism and moral disengagement. We make novel theoretical, empirical, and practical contributions by explaining why leader psychopathy affects employee expediency. This study is one of the first to integrate leader psychopathy, organisational cynicism, moral disengagement, and employee expediency into a single theoretical model.

Measuring the Association between Emotional and Financial Employee Well-Being and Work Satisfaction

Author(s): Nicoleta Valentina FLOREA,Gabriel Croitoru,Alina Stefania STROE / Language(s): English Issue: 3/2024

The article provides a concise yet significant overview of the emotional and financial well-being of employees at work, categorized as soft and hard aspects. Well-being is a multidisciplinary topic, now seen at the workplace as a factor in performance. Employee well-being is crucial not only for the individuals but also for the organizations, with a correlation between emotional and financial well-being and job satisfaction being assessed. Additionally, the study examined the impact of three variables - gender, age, and organization - on job satisfaction. The analysis, utilizing SPAS and R square, revealed that there is no significant association between gender (2.3%), age (0.9%), and organization (0.5%) and job satisfaction. Only a small percentage, ranging from 0.5% to 2.3%, of the variance in job satisfaction can be explained by these three variables. Furthermore, it was found that the emotional and financial well-being of employees significantly influences job satisfaction. A substantial 99.5% of the variance in these two types of well-being is linked to job satisfaction, making them strong predictors. This leads to increased job satisfaction among employees, resulting in enhanced performance at work. This mutually beneficial scenario is achieved through the use of simulation and forecasting, two methods that are both simple and complex. Organizations and their managers can use this as a starting point to comprehend the soft and hard aspects of achieving well-being and satisfaction at work to enhance performance.

THE ROLE OF THE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE WORK OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER A BRIEF GUIDEBOOK TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Author(s): Mihaiela David / Language(s): English Issue: 20/2023

Along with the development and the diversification of the duties that fall within the scope of the human resources department, the issue of reorganizing this sector as well as increasing the range of skills and abilities possessed by specialists working in the human resources has also been raised. If for the preparation of individual employment contract knowledge of the labor legislation was required, and for the preparation of a payroll elements of accounting were required, today the requirements for a human resources specialist involve a much more diverse range of knowledge and skills. Thus, the economic or administrative training is joined by knowledge in the fields of psychology, sociology, and biology, without which it would be difficult for the human resources specialist to achieve performance both at the personal level and at the level of personnel management that administer it. The access to information related to the personal development and the knowledge of the human behavior is no longer the exclusive right of psychology. Without diminishing the importance of an academic course in this respect, we would like to bring to attention a "shortcut" thereof, as a result of which any person can acquire a series of knowledge and skills specific to the field. This paper proposes to bring to the field of knowledge the category of information accessible as content, to the employees in the field of human resources who have studies in psychology. We thus connect to a universe of knowledge at the level of personal skills, self-motivation, empathy, identification and observation of emotions, and more concretely, to the emotional intelligence. The present paper came in response to the difficulties that the human resources personnel with predominantly economic education encounter in the activities that require understanding the behavior of employees, in their capacity as human resources. The paper summarizes the elements that define the concept of emotional intelligence and proposes a five-step guide to its development.

Intenzitet primjene ključnih odrednica transformacijskog liderstva direktora osnovnih škola u Kantonu Sarajevo

Author(s): Zijada Rahimić,Aida Omersoftić / Language(s): Bosnian,Croatian,Serbian Issue: 3/2024

Dynamics, uncertainty and unpredictability of change are present in all social spheres, including in the education sector. The position of the school director is considered crucial for creating an innovative school climate in accordance with environmental changes. The transformational leadership style is recognized as a style that enables capacity development, dedication and involvement of teachers in the process of innovative work in the direction of fulfilling the set goals of the school. Theoretical and empirical research proves that this leadership style in schools contributes to the empowerment of teachers in the application of innovative practices and the creation of an innovative school. Special emphasis is placed on the factors of building a vision, individual attention and intellectual stimulation by which transformational leaders motivate, inspire, encourage and stimulate teachers in intellectual work. This paper investigates the presence of the transformational leadership of primary schools principals in Sarajevo Canton. Using a sample of 675 teachers from 30 elementary schools, this paper examines whether and to what extent the principal's transformational leadership is represented using a quantitative research method. The results obtained on the basis of teachers' perceptions of the leadership of their principals show a high level of the presence of elements of transformational leadership: vision building, individual attention and intellectual stimulation. A high level of teacher evaluation indicates the director's readiness for innovative work, teachers' acceptance of a common vision and intellectual improvement in classroom work. Statistically significant differences in relation to the variables: gender, age, level of professional education, teaching area and years of work at the school, additionally explain the teachers' perceptions of the principal's transformational behavior. The teachers' acceptance of the change initiated by the director points to the need for systematic education of directors in the field of educational management, especially in the field of leadership.

CORPORATE REPUTATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEGITIMACY A LITERATURE REVIEW

Author(s): Luiza Ion (Domnișoru) / Language(s): English Issue: 21/2024

Across the last four decades, a vast scientific literature has analyzed the relationship between corporate reputation and organizational legitimacy (Cornelissen, 2004; Deephouse & Suchman, 2008; Tost, 2011; Bartlett et al., 2013; Bitektine & Haack, 2015) to highlight differences and similarities. This study aimed to analyze the scientific literature about organizational legitimacy and corporate reputation, employing a methodological design in three steps: literature refining through a systematic literature review, corpus selection, and conceptual universe delimitation. The systematic review was performed across the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The search equations were organizational reputation AND legit (legitimation/ legitimacy) within domains related to communications, sociology, and business management. The final sample was established after filtering the queries by English language, open-access articles, and texts having both terms present in abstracts or keywords (n=71 articles) for the final corpus selected articles being cited at least once (n=57). A content analysis using mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative) of the selected corpus and Computer-Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS) Leximancer and Atlas.ti completed the systematic review. The scientific literature published between 1994 and 2022 on organizational legitimacy and corporate reputation concepts showed that the theory of legitimacy and the sociopolitical approach were the prevailing themes. The most commonly used research method was qualitative (case studies, discourse analysis, in depth or directed interviews). Companies and profitable organizations associate reputation and legitimacy through social norms and ideological constructs (Palazzo & Scherer, 2006). Organizations invest in communication efforts, such as social media (Twitter, Instagram), business and sustainability reporting, and stakeholder communication management, to strengthen the relationship between these intangible assets (Rao, 1994; Sorenson, 2014; Martinez et al, 2018; Del-Castillo-Feito et al., 2020). The findings of this study can bring important insights for future research on the strategies used by the profitable organizations to build their reputation and self-representation on social media through discursive legitimation practices.

THE INFLUENCE OF THE ONLINE ENVIRONMENT ON GROUP BEHAVIOUR

THE INFLUENCE OF THE ONLINE ENVIRONMENT ON GROUP BEHAVIOUR

Author(s): Adrian Vilcu,Raluca Petronela Lăzărescu,Ionut Viorel Herghiligiu / Language(s): English Issue: 01/2022

Organisational behaviour (OB) is found in all economic and social fields. Thus, it supports many definitions, classifications and components depending on the field in which it is analysed. But regardless of the size in which it occurs, OB is centred by the individual, seen to the other elements of the system in which it is defined. Current research examines the changes that can be made by online learning about the individual to the group, the person himself and from the perspective of the task he has to solve. Thus, a statistical analysis was performed on two heterogeneous groups of students from different years, a group subjected to an entire online learning system for two years and a group with hybrid learning. The data of the systemic approach are presented - working hypotheses, components of the proposed model for analysing the individual's behaviour within the group, component of the questionnaire with structured aspects on three dimensions, its application on the two groups of respondents, statistical regression methodology - the creation of systemic variables, normality check distributions, the choice of statistical tests, the application of the regression method specific to the series distribution and the comparative analysis of the two psychometric relations for the two studied groups. The conclusions, limitations of the research, applicability, and future research directions are highlighted at the end of the paper.
