Nowadays, from the point of view of the theory of business, special attention is paid to the role of network connections between entities. The meaning of a new type of crisis in company (of non-economic nature) is emphasised. Analyzing these points of view, while trying to find common theoretical grounds, attention was paid to the role of networking in managing regional and local security. The emphasis is put on the role of practices, routines and flexibility of a business entity which may be used e.g. in a threat situation, when the networking approach is taken.

To increase the chances to achieve this objective, the condition may be conducive which gives the feeling of certainty of existence and guarantee of its continuation, which means safety of the enterprise. Pursuing the objective of the company is also correlated with its ethical image, determined with, among others, acceptance of the activities of the company from the ethical standpoint. Ethics of business is the basis for initiation of activities which are referred to as corporate social responsibility (CSR). Both in business practice and in the literature, interest is on the increase in the CSR concept of conscious action focused not only on economic aspects (e.g. profit), but also on social and ecological aspects. From the point of view of management, social responsibility must be an integral element of the management strategy to become effective. The companies which indeed want to behave socially responsible are expected to introduce such formal solutions to the company system which form permanent grounds for ethical activities. This may be done with various methods and tools. The code of ethics is one of them. The code of ethics is aimed at regulation of activities of the internal structures of an enterprise, it defi nes the assumptions of the corporate culture of the company, and it introduces a certain standard of providing services. Badania poligraficzne w systemie bezpieczeństwa przedsiębiorstwa

Badania poligraficzne w systemie bezpieczeństwa przedsiębiorstwa

Author(s): Radosław Szymiczek / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2013

The article raises an issue of a specific type of polygraph tests called screening tests in work relations. The basic theoretical aim of the article is to explain the differences between screening tests and terminologically opposite studies performed for a definite diagnosis (so called diagnostic tests). The discussed article carries also a practical value as it mentions the difficulties that a polygraph operator meets with while entering such a delicate area as the employees’ loyalty towards their bosses. However, the author does not confine to mention the problem but he also attempts to indicate possible solutions, which may contribute to improve the polygraph tests in the private sector. The analysis of the test results, which enables researchers to draw proper conclusions, has also been presented. A high rate of adverse opinions about those tested illustrates the scale of risk posed to the business security by a disloyal employee. The assumptions concerning the results are also an opening to a discussion about the benefits and drawbacks of polygraph tests in the private sector.

ПОВЕДЕНИЕТО КАТО ФАКТОР НА ИЗПЪЛНИТЕЛНОСТТА НА ИНДИВИДА В ОРГАНИЗАЦИЯТА

Author(s): Vance Bojkov,Marieta Goceva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2023

The subject of the behavior of the individual in the organization is increasingly relevant these days. The strict and responsible fulfillment of the set goals depends on the behavior of the person who changes his actions under the influence of external or internal factors. Behavior can be conscious or unconscious, overt or covert, voluntary or involuntary. Organizational behavior as a scientific field studies the enduring characteristics of human behavior and human communities from the perspective of organized labor and management. It is an interdisciplinary field dedicated both to the study and understanding of the causes, structure and dynamics of individual and group work behavior, as well as to the practice of its impact, its actual practical management. Organizational behavior is concerned with defining, understanding, expecting and controlling human behavior within the organization and its environment. The potential motivating or demotivating impact of all aspects of organizational behavior is subject to reconsideration from the perspective of desired changes in behavior. These aspects include organizational culture, formal and informal structures and relationships, interpersonal behavior, communications, management and leadership. Individuality is an important factor and indicator expressing a particular and specific way of thinking of the person, emotional experience and behavior, which determine the unique attitude towards the environment and the personal self. Of particular importance in determining individuality are abilities and intelligence. An object of understandable attention is the behavior of the individual in the organization and the determinants of responsible organizational behavior. Organizational behavior seeks to provide practically useful tools for behavioral analysis at several levels. The behavioral process takes place in several dimensions, each with its own function. Each management approach also has motivational dimensions, because both activities are directly or indirectly related to the behavior of the organization's members. Managing organizational behavior includes both general and specific functions that must be performed by effective leaders. The specific approaches and techniques they use should reflect both the cultural specificity and the specific situation. The effectiveness of the modern manager is associated with style and influence tactics in the management of organizational behavior.

Społeczna odpowiedzialność biznesu a odpowiedzialne zarządzanie dla zrównoważonego rozwoju

Author(s): Celina Sołek-Borowska / Language(s): Polish Issue: 197/2024

In the subject literature the concepts of corporate social responsibility and responsible management are often used interchangeably, and sustainable development is used at the macro level. The aim of the article is to systematize the concepts and determine their mutual dependency. Corporate social responsibility is defined as a concept according to which “companies voluntarily include social and environmental issues in their business operations and interaction with their stakeholders” [Crowther, Jatana, 2005]. The response of businesses to the challenges of sustainable development, and simultaneously the basis for achieving its goals, is the model of social responsibility. It has been demonstrated that effective implementation of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development should be conducted according to the concept of responsible management. At the same time, the necessary condition of their implementation is engagement on the side of enterprises. The discussion shows the perception of the sustainable development and social responsibility concepts by enterprises as key to long-term development of societies.
