This paper draws on the conceptual framework of “time poverty” to explore how employed students, a group much affected by “time poverty”, experienced changes in time allocation during the COVID-19 lockdown in Romania. Findings of a mixed-method study indicate that working and non-working students perceived and engaged differently with this sudden increase in discretionary time. Compared to non-working students, working students, welcomed this newly acquired time and saw it as an opportunity to engage in both education and self-growth activities. They also show higher levels of engagement with educational activities and an increased sense of satisfaction resulting from this engagement, as well as higher levels of wellbeing. This quick reorientation clearly reveals that time poverty is a barrier to education and personal well-being for working students.

Ad 1.

Bicyclism has lately become increasingly popular as an activity in which bicycle is used not only as a means of transport, but also as a tourist activity, and a type of recreation useful for human health and considerably environment-friendlier than the use of motor vehicles. This has influenced the process of arranging an ever increasing number of marked and unmarked cyclotourist routes on the existing roads with less traffic in motor vehicles, as well as establishing special bicyclist tracks along the existing roads, and separate bicyclist paths and roads intended for bicyclists only. Particularly popular among them are abandoned railway tracks, which are converted into bicyclist roads, since due to the needs of railway transport, they have relatively gentle slopes. Thus, they are not too demanding for the majority of cyclotourists, whilst their attractiveness lies in the fact that they pass through beautiful landscape. The paper presents the methodology of planning the revitalisation of the abandoned railway track between Bjelovar and Garešnica with a branch line for Grubišno Polje for the needs of developing cyclotourism in the Bjelovar-Bilogora County.

The centenary anniversary of Ruch Prawniczy, Ekonomiczny i Socjologiczny is a good time for reflection on the status of social science journals in Poland. The article compares the form and content of the twelfth volume (1932) of RPEiS with today’s academic journals. The major conclusion is that the pre-WWII journal was targeted at the broadly defined milieu of the humanistic intelligentsia, while today’s journals are addressed exclusively to a narrow group of academic specialists. Is there a chance of establishing a social science periodical in Poland that would attract a broader readership, including both scientists and practitioners in the field of the social sciences?

The aim of this paper is to introduce a pertinent management model for municipalities and relevant groups to support the local communities in dealing with social and economic issues, or as in our case, with the effects of the global pandemic, while promoting sustainable development, through corporate social co-responsibility and efficient allocation and reallocation of resources. SPIRAL Methodology was used to implement exploratory research using the focus group as main research method and ESPOIR software for the statistical analysis. 2275 answers were collected from 198 citizens in Brasov Municipality. The citizens’ answers positively correlate with the social and economic situation, dominated by the effects of the Great Recession. Mostly, well-being through their eyes is related to the working place, purchasing power, education and mental and physical health. Secondly citizens focus on improving their lives and contributing to the society. Lastly, they pay attention to the personal equilibrium. SPIRAL represents a useful tool in supporting governments and local stake holders to identify the pain points, find solutions and locally available resources while, sharing responsibility and successfully overcoming the negative impact of the global pandemic over the economy and society. When comparing the effects SPRIAL methodology had in the communities where it was applied, with the current situation around the world and with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, we contribute to enriching the management knowledge by providing a comprehensive tool that promotes sustainable development, measures wellbeing and nurtures cooperation and social innovation.

Objectives of this study are to investigate the effect of workload on turnover intention and burnout and the mediating role of burnout in the effect of workload on leaving.COVID-19 pandemic leads to highly challenging work conditions for healthcare workers including nurses who mostly work at the front-line accompanying patients. This research was conducted in a private hospital with a Joint Commission International (JCI) certificate in Istanbul of Turkey between January and March 2021. 247 nurses comprising 91% of the nurse population in the hospital have been included. Workload had positive effect on burnout (β=0.51, 95% CI [0.287, 0.441]) and turnover intention of nurses (β=0.31, 95% CI [0.322, 0.603]). Burnout had a positive effect on turnover intention (β=0.54, 95% CI [0.932, 1.32]) and a mediating role in the effect of workload on turnover intention (β=0.41, 95% CI [0.302, 0.530]).Our finding indicated that increased workload is associated with increased levels of burnout and turnover intention of nurses. Furthermore, burnout has a positive effect on mediating the turnover intention.

The aim of this article is to describe and discuss the key challenges of social and healthcare services in Slovakia, focusing on the Integrative Elderly Care Model as part of a changing welfare state. It also examines the opportunities and challenges related to the transformation of community-based social and healthcare services. The Slovak welfare state has undergone several revisions during the last decade; so too has the elderly care sector, which is a combination of public and non-government organisations. Elderly citizens, however, remain in a precarious situation. The trend toward marketisation and re-familiarisation of elderly care ‘go towards the EU average’, indicating an increase in public social expenditure directed towards aging.

The situation of unschooled teenagers in the labor market seems particularly worrisome. This study is related to concerns about the social integration of adolescents and aims to identify the determinants of the future of out-of-school adolescents in the commune of Tchaourou. It specifically addresses, through a nested multinomial logit regression, two aspects of the “future” of adolescents out of-school: economic activity and future plans. The results show that the size of the household of residence and the financial support granted by parents/guardians are the key factors in the exercise of an income-generating activity by out-of-school adolescents. The future of adolescents out-of-school are significantly influenced by the relationship with the head of the household, the standard of living of the household and the type of household.

The current text is dedicated to revealing the newest faces of undeclared employment, viewed through the prism of the new forms of supply and implementation of employment that have emerged in the last ten years. The analysis is based on a desk research, which examined an impressive number of European regulations, analytical reports and studies. On this basis, eleven new forms of employment have been identified. At the next stage, the analysis is focused on identifying the factors that create risks of undeclared work in the implementation of new forms of employment. A methodological innovation is the Matrix of 24 indicators operationalizing the concept of „employment”, constructed especially for the purposes of the analysis. With the help of this Matrix, the new forms of employment are subjected to a detailed analysis, as a result of which are highlighted the weaknesses leading to the emergence of undeclared work. The analysis has a high management value, as it suggests key directions and areas for designing policies and measures for reduction and prevention of undeclared work.

The aim of papers is to describe and discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the traditional approach in undergraduate nursing education in Israel. The lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic forced an abrupt transformation from the face-to-face educational approach to ERT (Emergency Remote Teaching) in tertiary education in general and in undergraduate nursing education in particular. The current research was part of a mixed-method doctoral study that explored the implementation of a new nursing core curriculum mirroring social change in Israel. This particular section was based on in-depth interviews of 14 heads of nursing schools and nursing departments in colleges and universities. The content data analysis was performed on in-depth interviews. The interviews were conducted between March 2019-January 2021, after the release of the draft version of the new nursing core curriculum. Half of the interviews were completed after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and so relevant to the current discussion. These interviews included additional questions about the transformation to ERT and adjustments for this made in nursing education institutions. The content analysis revealed the theme that exposed the different ways that nursing education programs in Israel were managed during the COVI-19 pandemic. Findings are presented and analyzed. The categories emerging from this theme related to different coping patterns with ERT, consequences, coping with clinical practice challenges and with online examinations and lessons learned. The paper discussed the impact and the perceived necessity of various online platforms. The findings demonstrate that Israeli nursing educators learned to overcome the main barriers to distance learning. This process was largely engendered by the COVID-19 pandemic that forced them to face and manage the situation. The lessons learned equipped them with valuable tools to adjust nursing education to 21st-century demands.

Logopedics, as a science of speech disturbances, is an interdisciplinary branch of science. While trying to answer questions pertaining to speech disturbances, their description and aetiology, as well as trying to help those individuals affected by these disturbances, logopedics makes use of achievements of other disciplines like linguistics, laryngology, phoniatrics, orthodoncy, psychology, pedagogy etc. Relatively young trend in linguistic research is cognitive linguistics which constitutes an integral part of all cognitive sciences and is also an interdisciplinary branch of science. The Author advocates for the possibility of applying cognitive linguistics, and especially the prototype theory, in the logopedic research. One of the relatively new scientific disciplines is logopedics. It addresses speech problems. The author raises the question of the depth of scientific reflection in logopedics and at the same time indicates that there is a possibility of applying the cognitive linguistics, particularly the prototype theory in the logopedic research. Referring to her own research and her own reflection upon the problem she describes the prototypes which are characteristic of children with cleft palate - they are as follows: the anatomical prototype, the prototype of biological dysfunctions and the prototype of communication.

Beginning with the years of Eastward expansion and intensifying threats issued by Russia, the EU’s foreign policy has prioritized the creation of a stable and secure territory in its Eastern neighbourhood. Western countries have tried to solidify this union by means of developing a varied palette of regional cooperation instruments, such as: The European Neighbourhood Policy, The Eastern Partnership/EaP, Free Trade and Association Accords. This article brings to the forefront the issue of the current effectiveness of European policies, especially the Eastern Partnership, considering that the war in Ukraine generated major regional changes and different positions of the EaP member states towards the EU. And here I refer to the suspension of Belarus as a EaP member, Armenia and Azerbaijan, states used by Russia to evade international sanctions. Also, the EU's acceptance of the EU accession applications of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine forces a change in the objectives of the EaP. In this context, starting from the assumption that the EaP, in the current regional context, is no longer a realistic project in its current form, the question remains: is it realistic and sustainable solution for the EU to continue developing new projects for EaP states or is it more efficient for the EU to redirect its attention to rethinking already existing projects, namely the allocation of EaP resources exclusively for the Republic of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine, with the aim of supporting and accelerating the EU accession process?

This article aims to analyse the situation that happened in 2014 when the Russian Federation illegally and illegitimately annexed the Crimean Peninsula, proving that in the 21st century the annexation of a part of a democratic state (belonging to a mostly democratic international community) is possible. Claiming its destabilizing actions in the form of "requested aid", the Russian Federation tried to find countless justifications for the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula by creating an interventionist annexation precedent. The research methodology of the article aims at a longitudinal study regarding the justifications that the Russian Federation tried to provide for the illegal and illegitimate annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, with the main method being the documentary analysis based on the specialized literature. The most important two questions of the paper are: „what were the justifications offered by Moscow in favour of the annexation” and „did the legal camouflage that Moscow gave to the illegal and illegitimate annexation of Crimea lead to international recognition?” The attempt to answer these two questions offers the opportunity to analyse the tricks (especially legislative) that the Russian Federation will use on the international level regarding the annexation of Crimea.
