The paper investigates the role of lexical and grammatical means of modality in realising intentionality of media discourse. The discourse category of intentionality is understood as the main communicative purpose of a discourse genre which determines its overall structure, the author’s communicative strategies and the linguistic means for their representation. The research is based on material of problem feature articles excerpted from the American press. The paper focuses on the pragmatic analysis of language units expressing propositional modality (possibility, necessity) and illocutionary modality (imperatives and interrogatives) used in different structural parts of a problem feature article. The results demonstrate a different potential of modal utterances with these meanings to express the author’s global intention – suggesting ways of solving the problem raised in the article. A special procedure has been worked out to prove the connection between the modal utterance and the intentionality of the media discourse genre under study.

The study encompassed the perception of the context, function and types of interpersonal communication in the examined sample families as well as the dfferences in the perception of family communication patterns in the families with dfferent living conditions (families of primary and high school students, welfare users and children and youth treated in special institutions for children and youth with behavioral disorders). The aim of the paper was to examine and describe children's perception of their family communication, and to determine whether there are any dfferences in the perception of family communication regardless of their socio-family status. The hypotheses were, on the basis of prior knowledge and literature on the subject, that family communication would be seen as more positive in those groups of children that, by usual classification, belong to the so called general population". The sample consisted of 1,407 children and youth aged ll-18. The sample was questioned about the form of communication within their families. The questionnaire Communication in the Family (Brajia, P., Baiit, J., Mejoviek, M., Ziiak, A.) was used for the purpose. Factor analyses and robust discriminative analysis were used for data processing. The results showed that, in children's estimation, communication within the family covered a wide part of family life, and the social function of the family was specially recognized. The most significant difference was, in the estimation of the children, family togetherness (with special emphasis on support and help) with the absence of unclear and closed communication. The results obtained may serve as a basis for professional suggestions in respect to the prevention and treatment of children and youth with behavioral disorders.

Delivering effective and persuasive speeches is vital for politicians to keep themselves afloat in the political waters. Making a proper choice of words and expressions and constructing grammatically correct, and, sometimes, even syntactically atypical utterances on purpose to draw the attention to a specific point, are perhaps among the most necessary skills of both aspiring and well-established politicians. In other words, given that politics and language go hand in hand, a perfect mastery of language and very skillful language use are instrumental for all those who have entered the domain of politics. Practice has shown that politicians who are adept at using language effectively fare much better not only when it comes to obtaining and maintaining power, but when they have to relinquish power as well. In that respect, Chilton (2004) rightfully remarks that most political actors are normally acutely aware of the importance of their language use for their political career.

In the 1920s German institutions in Bukovina still had little contact with Germany. During the economic crisis there comesa loan to keep the German House in Cernăuţi and since then interventions in Germany become frequent. After 1933, especiallythe Berlin Propaganda ministry sends grants to Nazi newspapers. Nazi groups formed after 1933 fi rst fought against Germanconservatives and then against Catholic organizations. Most of the Germans in Bukovina belonged to the Roman CatholicChurch. Between 1935 and 1938 two Nazi groups fought for infl uence supported by various organizations in Germany. In 1935,the Romanian Government closed all the state schools in Bukovina where it was taught in German. The plan of the Germanconsul Fritz Schellhorn from Cernăuţi to found private schools in villages next to the Catholic churches cannot be realized. Duringfactional struggles the institutions of Berlin fi nd the most docile leaders, who will organize the total alignment in Bukovina.

The paper examines a moment of the history of the Bukovinian German-speaking press from the interwar period: theCzernowitzer Deutsche Tagespost newspaper during 1937, before the December parliamentary elections that will give a decisiveblow to the democratic system in Romania. An almost unoffi cial periodical of the ethnic Germans in Bukovina, it puts itself fullyand openly in the service of Hitler propaganda, whose topics it repeatedly reload with a violent rhetoric; the sympathies withthe Romanian fascist movements are also evident. The subsequent assertion of one of the editors, that the newspaper wasactually owned by the Ministry of Propaganda in Berlin, gives the measure of the political and ideological infi ltration of theGerman minority in Romania by institutions of Nazi Germany.

The young Erdélyi had the opportunity to take a few snapshots of Miklós Kállay, then Prime Minister of Hungary in the Horthy regime, during his offi cial visit to the child’s hometown; later, he started working on portraits of several Transylvanian personalities and doing pioneering work by bringing to light some valuable photographic documents from diff erent archives. On the occasion of his 90th birthday, we have published, in the October 2018 issue of “Korunk” journal, an overview of his career entitled The close-up photography of Lajos Erdélyi. The Holocaust is treated in the scholarly literature as a phenomenon characterized by singularity and specifi city, therelevance of the subject being often discussed in political or historical studies. To determine how it was possible for so manypeople involved to act both actively and passively in this dark episode of history, it is necessary to treat the Holocaust within theframe of social sciences at an interdisciplinary level. We propose to treat the subject both from a legislative perspective, in orderto follow the way in which the rule of law can instrument the extermination of a group for religious reasons, as well as fromthe perspective of informing through the press, respectively that of public policies, to observe the masking of a phenomenon ofsuch extent. Also, the article emphasizes that the post-Holocaust Jewish reintegration decisions in the Romanian society werein fact formalities and the Romanian culture was and will remain one of an anti-Semitic type.

Purpose of the article is to reveal the level of universality of media and communication theory of museum by M. Castelles. Methodology. Analysis of thinking, criticism, deductive logic. Scientific novelty. Integrative approach by Castelles is a significant component in theory of museum as unique medium. This theory is about capacity of museum to overcome hyper-autonomization of physic, subjective and objective world (according to Popper's three worlds). Conclusions. Universality of theory of media and communication of museum by M. Castelles depends on his paradoxical model of future. In this model development of communication facilities isolates people and groups one from another, so it will be difficult to get mutual understanding. But forecasts of Castelles have not come true yet. His article about museum was published in 2001 – 17 years ago and people still can understand one another. Castelles was the first among researchers of museum communication, who correctly used the McLuhan’s formula «medium is a message». For Castelles museum collection is not a sense of museum communication. It is only a special device, which allows museum to influence the society the way other media cannot do. Thus, the universality of Castelles approach is rather more important, than his futurological conclusions. It consists of study of social transformational capacity of museum as a specific medium.

Aim: Communication is an important part of today's social life. The role of communication is uttermost important in work-life which is another significant part of the social life. In fact, the positive communication inside of the organization may affect the job satisfaction, (Yüksel, 2005:291), the performance of the employees, (Tanrıverdi et al., 2010:117), and the organizational loyalty (Saltık et al., 2015:57). In any organization or corporation, the organizational communication, which is the interaction that the employees of that organization formed with each other and with other members of the organization (Oskay,2001:148), is significant in terms of the success and the continuity of the organizations. Effective communication practices affect the job satisfaction of the employees positively (Ilozor vd, 2001:495). The communication with especially administrators might affect the job satisfaction significantly. A clear, reliable superiors-subordinates communication affects the job satisfaction positively, while it is inevitable that the exact opposite would cause dissatisfaction. The researches on employees who experience job dissatisfaction indicate that the cause of the dissatisfaction is lack of communication (Parsons and Broadbridge, 2006: 128). It is extremely hard for the organizations to reach their both short and long term objectives with employees having low motivation, performance and loyalty. The study aims to determine the effect of the superiors-subordinates communication on the job satisfaction of the employees working at Sivas City Health Administrative.Method: 250 people working at T.R. Sivas City Health Administrative compose the population of the study. The whole population was aimed to be reached without specifying a sample, however, 170 people were reached. Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale, developed by Weiss et al. (1967), and its translation into Turkish, its validity and reliability work carried out by Baycan (1985) as well as Communication Scale, developed by Huseman et al. (1980) and its translation into Turkish, its validity and reliability carried out by Yüksel (2005) were used as data collection tool in the study. The data were collected by face to face questionnaire technique. The data obtained were analyzed through SPSS 22 program. In addition to descriptive statistical methods, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis. Before performing the research, necessary permissions were taken from Sivas City Health Administrative where the survey would be carried out and approval of ethics was granted by the Cumhuriyet University Non-invasive Ethics Committee (21.06.2016 dated, article no: 2016-06-024).Because the Turkish validity analyses of the scales used in the study were done, validity analysis was not done again in this study but reliability analysis was done.Findings: When we look at the socio-demographic features of the people taking part in the study, it is seen that %37,6 of them is female, %62,4 is male and the majority of the participants is in the 31-40 years old interval (%41,8) and again the majority of the participants is either associate's degree(%30) or bachelor's degree (%38,8), graduate. %79,4 of the participants is married. When we look at the experiences of the employees in the job, %15,3 has 4 or fewer years, %24,7 has 5-9 years, %18,8 has 10-14 years, %12,9 has 15-19 years and %28,2 has 20 or more years of work experience. However, a big proportion of the employees as %60 works at the related organization for 4 or fewer years. The reliability of the study was found high because all of the Cronbach Alpha values of the scales and their sub-dimensions used in the study were above 0,70. According to the correlation analysis results, scales and all of their sub-dimensions have a strong, positive relationship with each other.According to results of the study, superiors-subordinates communication and feedback which is the sub-dimensions of superiors-subordinates communication have a positive effect on job satisfaction. Additionally; superiors-subordinates communication and feedback dimension have a positive and significant effect on internal satisfaction and external satisfaction. Results: Being similar with many studies in the literature (Kim,2002:235; Shadur et al., 1999:479; Yüksel, 2005:302; İlozor et al., 2001:495; Orpen, 1997:521; Karcıoğlu,2009:71), the results of the study imply that there is a relationship between communication and job satisfaction, furthermore communication affects job satisfaction positively. Additionally; one of the important results of the study is that which superiors-subordinates communication dimensions have a stronger relationship with job satisfaction and sub dimensions. Accordingly results of the study, feedback has the highest impact on both job satisfaction and sub-dimensions. Feedback received from superiors’ increases subordinates’ job satisfaction significantly. After the feedback dimension, the information dimension has high correlation with job satisfaction and sun dimensions. Accordingly, informing the subordinates about the work and informing the employees about what is going on in the institution are the factors that improve the job satisfaction of the employees. The target dimension of superiors-subordinates communication is the third dimension which has the highest correlation with job satisfaction and sub-dimensions of the subordinates’. According to this result, determining the target in the institution, taking the opinions of the employees while setting the target and providing detailed explanations about the targets are important factors in improving the job satisfaction of the employees. It has been stated in the literature that job satisfaction is related to attitudes such as being stressed, being absent, being intended to quit the job and being or not being loyal to the organization (Lambert et al., 2001: 233; Sagie, 1998:167; Gaertner, 1999: 480). In the light of these, because of the result that obtained in this study that superiors-subordinates communication affects the job satisfaction of the subordinate, it is likely to also affect other attitudes such as being stressed, being absent, not being loyal to the organization. Communication has a key role in the attitudes of the employees such as being loyal and having positive attitudes towards their organization which are extremely important factors for today’s organizations. As a result, communication can have a key role in the attitudes of the employees such as being loyal and having positive attitudes towards their organization which are extremely important factors for today's organizations. When the possible results of the inefficiency of the superiors-subordinates communication considered, it is clear that this is a subject to place importance on. For this reason, it could be suggested that all the administrators at administrative levels should create an environment suitable for communication among the employees, design their work processes in a way allowing positive communication, and encourage their employees to communicate with each other effectively and educate and improve their employees on the subject of communication.
