Colloquia Comparativa Litterarum

Colloquia Comparativa Litterarum

Frequency: 1 issues / Country: Bulgaria

Colloquia Comparativa Litterarum is published by Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and edited by the literary scholars of the Balkan Studies Masters and Doctoral Studies Program (Department of General, Indo-European, and Balkan Linguistics with the Faculty of Slavic Studies). This journal aims to encourage the study of Comparative Literature. The similarities and overlaps between less popular literatures and the well-researched canonical phenomena remain rather unexplored. Colloquia Comparativa Litterarum wants to give priority to such issues; to reconsider the clichéd notions of centres and peripheries, of one-way influences, temporary delays and topic deficiencies. It makes sense to seek the meaning of common affinities and trends, in other words – to look at what is positive, stimulating, and creative about the communication between literary and cultural phenomena. In fact, the Balkans are home to just a small share of the less researched literatures in the field of Comparative Literature. In Europe, we often know too little about our neighbours, unless they happen to be the French, German or British literatures.

Colloquia Comparativa Litterarum expresses itself in three languages: Bulgarian, French and English. It provides new opportunities for communication between scholars of Comparative Literature with the aim of a complete, conceptual and terminological understanding of new ideas within our field of research.

w Listach do Voli Vładzimira Naklajeva jako źródło wartościowania rzeczywistości

Językowe emanacje emocji w Listach do Voli Vładzimira Naklajeva jako źródło wartościowania rzeczywistości

Author(s): Andrzej Sitarski / Language(s): Polish / Issue: XXIII/2018

On the basis of the analysis of the letters of Vladimir Naklajev to his wife, Vola, the author con- cludes that the linguistic forms used in the letters serve the function of conceptualisation of the emo- tions of their author. In fact, they are an example of ego-documents that represent the self-perception and interpretation of a particular political event in Minsk in 2010, through which the Belarussian poet, Vladimir Naklajev, verbalises his personal accounts of himself, events and other people linked with these events in the Belarussian capital. It is worth pinpointing that the language of the letters has a specific emotional climate that changes in accordance with events, situations and people, to which their author refers. The properties of the linguistic code of the letters allow to understand them as texts that symbolise the personal senses of their author.

Józef Morelowski jako dydaktyk, perfekcjonista i literat cyzelator

Author(s): Magdalena Górowska / Language(s): Polish / Publication Year: 0

The purpose of the article is to present the poetic activity of Joseph Morelowski and his career path as a hardworking educator and student of the Jesuits in Polotsk. Morelowski devoted his life to teaching at Jesuit colleges, the Academy of Polotsk, as well as in the schools in Galicia. He was known as an educator of the youth, a professor of Rhetoric and Poetics, teacher of languages: Russian and French. The testimony of his efforts as the youth educator, the cleanliness of the Polish language and survival of mother tongue at the Time of Partition can be found in his literary work. Daily job as educator and attention to his own poetic work and certainly religious duties were associated with the need to impose him much of discipline. Despite the immensity of work for Morelowski the great importance was the pursuit of excellence in the art of poetry. A large part of his literary works was dedicated to reflection on the writer’s work. Some remarks are also devoted to places of work and rest of the Jesuit because there can also be found poetic ‘documentation’ forms of recreation in his poetry.

Language, Place And History In Belarusian Literature

Language, Place And History In Belarusian Literature

Author(s): Arnold McMillin / Language(s): English / Issue: 1/2015

Belarusian literature is currently written under difficult circumstances, which, however, neither stimulates nor restricts its development. In fact it flourishes both in metro¬politan and provincial Belarus as well as abroad. The much repressed language, after a chequered history, survives mainly in literature and in the use by mainly young nationally conscious Belarusians for whom it may act as a socio-political statement. The history of Belarus as the main successor state of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania is inalienable, though disputed and minimized by some of the country’s leaders whose historical consciousness begins with World War II or even later. Most writers who left the country in voluntary or involuntary exile have gained new created energy, though the Belarusian Free Theatre would gladly return, were circumstances different. Whatever its difficulties, Belarusian culture re-mains strong.

Literatura białoruska w Polsce po roku 1989. O potrzebie tworzenia bazy literackiej

Literatura białoruska w Polsce po roku 1989. O potrzebie tworzenia bazy literackiej

Author(s): Grażyna Charytoniuk-Michiej / Language(s): Polish / Issue: 49/2014

Speaking about Belarusian literature in Poland we focus on fiction, its translation into Polish and the study of literature. The existence of the Belarusian literature in Poland in the post-war period is indicated by the following bibliographies: a bibliography of translations for the period 1945–1994 (G. Charytoniuk, Literatura białoruska w Polsce. Bibliografia przekładów za lata 1945–1994, Białystok 1996) and a subject bibliography for the period 1945–1998 (G. Charytoniuk, Polskie białorutenika literackie. Bibliografia przedmiotowa 1945–1998, Białystok 1998). The new political, economical and social conditions in Poland after 1989 have had an influence on the situation of the Belarusian literature. In addition to the existing departments some new university departments and scientific branches have been organized. Their aim is to realize new scientific projects connected with the Belarusian literature in Poland and Belarus. A lot of nongovernment organizations (funds, partnerships, associations) have been organized not only in Bialystok region, but also in the other parts of the country. A new publishing market has been established which has focused on the modern literature of Central and Eastern Europe including Belarusian literature. The Internet also plays an important role in popularization of the Belarusian literature. That literature has been included in the database of the National library (Przewodnik Bibliograficzny, Bibliografia Zawartości Czasopism), regional libraries (Bibliografia województwa podlaskiego) and the digital library (Polska Bibliografia Literacka). The information is searched by institutional scientific depositories and digital libraries. The considerable part of the information has not been registered in the bibliographic database. In this situation it is necessary to develop an integral literature bibliographic database of the Belarusian literature in Poland.
