Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the research on genre modifications and changes in modern small prose. The main attention is paid to the genre of prosaic miniature. Specificity of the reflection of reality in small prose is investigated using the example of S. Janovich’s and J. Chykvin’s creativity. The writers’ selected works which reflect distinctive features of modern prosaic miniature are analyzed.
