
Slovenski pogled na skupni srednjeevropski gospodarski prostor v drugi polovici 19. stoletja
In the paper, the author analyses the effect of interethnic conflicts in the Habsburg Empire in the second half of the nineteenth century, with particular reference to German-Slovene conflicts, on the shaping of Slovene opinion regarding a possible customs union between Germany and the Habsburg Empire, the existing Austro-Hungarian union, and economic relations within the Austrian half of the Empire. He concludes that Slovene views on a common Central European economic area reflected aspirations for the political and ethnic re-arrangement of the area, rather than economic reality.
