MALADJUSTED_Students, long-haired youths and other perspectives of the Czechoslovak organs of power

Nepřizpůsobiví. Studenti, máničky a další pohledem československých mocenských orgánů (PDF 2,3 MB)

Author(s): Ladislav Kudrna / Language(s): Czech / Issue: 02/2011

I would like to break the boss’s head with a chair and then go and get properly pissed. Then I would like hair down to my arse and all the records that have that kickass “big beat”. An unknown apprentice bricklayer. With this quote, the author introduces a study on the attitudes of the communist regime towards the “maladjusted” youth of Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. At the same time, the fi nal straw for the communist authorities to initiate repressive measures came with the student celebrations of 1 May 1965, traditionally known as Majáles. The celebrations culminated with the election of the American beatnik Allen Ginsberg as the King of Majáles. Above all Czechoslovak university students showed themselves to be far removed from the communist concept of socialist youth. Consequently, from the authorities’ point of view, it was necessary to launch counteractive measures. This resulted in stricter surveillance, eff orts to ensure greater indoctrination with the ideas of communism, and growing repression. This also logically led to unoffi cial movements enjoying greater popularity.

Author(s): Tomáš Zahradnický / Language(s): Czech / Issue: 1/2014

Keywords: Data Message; Data Mailbox; DMIS; PDF; OS X; Safari

The Data Message Information System is a remarkable information system of the state infrastructure. Design of an information system of such importance should be done with much care also due to fact that if a design flaw appeared later, it could have severe impacts at the users. A flaw that will be discussed in this paper applies to a data message sending process of messages containing PDF attachments. Users with the default Safari web browser on OS X do not need to be always able to open such attachments. The paper analyses the situation and gives an answer to a question when will a PDF attachment be opened correctly and when not.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION AND ITS INCLUSION INTO TEACHING AT PDF MU

Author(s): Eduard Hofmann,Hana Svobodová / Language(s): English / Publication Year: 0

Keywords: Outdoor teaching; school curriculum; skills;

Outdoor teaching is definitely not a product of nowadays. It has appeared in the school curriculum of several subjects for more than 100 years. The presented methodology does not primarily deal with the name origin of that teaching form, and thus we define it for the purposes of the presented publication as follows (Hofmann et al., 2003, p. 7; Svobodová et al., 2019): “Outdoor education can be defined as an “integrating” term denoting various forms of education with the outdoor setting of their common unifying feature. Outdoor education can take various organisational forms, from a walk, a field excursion or field exercise to a several-day school trip or residential outdoor school. Depending on the objectives and used teaching methods the pupils can be passive listeners and observers as well as researchers actively collecting and processing information from primary and secondary sources, with the help of research methods and aids offered by the individual science disciplines.“
