The Institute for Legal Studies started publishing the book series “Nauchni trudove na Instituta za pravni nauki” (Academic works of the Institute for Legal Studies) in 2003. The book series gives the research fellows from the Institute the opportunity to publish academic papers on topics they work on. Editor in Chief of the book series is Prof. Tsvetana Kamenova.

The Institute for Legal Studies publishes the law journal ‘Pravna missal’ (‘Legal Studies’) since 1957. ‘Pravna missal’ is the leading theoretical law journal in Bulgaria published on a quarterly basis. Its contributors are prominent scholars as well as young research fellows and doctoral students. In addition to the articles in all fields of law the journal publishes also reviews of monographs and textbooks; it presents the activities of the associations collaborating with the Institute (the Bulgarian Association of International Law, the Bulgarian Association of Comparative Law, the Bulgarian Association of Criminology), it provides information for different events, organized by the Institute. All articles presented for publication are reviewed by the editorial board. It consists of well-known scholars in the basic fields of law. The editor-in-chief is senior research fellow Krasen Stoichev, D.Sc.
