Short Description
The journal “Lawyer Review” is a periodical of the Supreme Bar Council with traditions since 1921. “Lawyer Review” is established as a theoretical and applied printed organ of the bar community in Bulgaria. The publications include both scientific articles and analytical texts related to a review of the case law of national courts, the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union. The editorial policy of the journal is oriented not only towards a review of current problems of legislation and law enforcement and their impact on the lawyer’s activity, but also towards general theoretical issues with a practical perspective. "Lawyer Review" is referenced in the National Reference List with ISSN: 1313-7204.
The Supreme Bar Council is a supreme body of the bar, composed of 15 main and 10 reserve members, who are elected for a four-year term by the general assembly of the country's lawyers. The Supreme Bar Council convenes and holds a General Assembly of the country's lawyers, implements its decisions and reports to it, determines the initial and annual contributions of lawyers to its budget, issues regulations assigned by the Bar Act, rules on appeals against unlawful decisions of the General Assembly of the Bar Associations and on the legality of the election of the bar councils, rules on appeals and protests against the resolutions of the bar councils on admission to internship and on the admission of lawyers, keeps a list of lawyers in the country, which is published in the State Gazette, provides and approves the expenses for the activities of the Supreme Controlled Council and the Supreme Disciplinary Court.
