Summary/Abstract: The eyes of the whole world are currently focused on the further escalation of violence and instability in the south-eastern parts of Ukraine. The triggering mechanism of this crisis was the clash of Ukrainian elites over the choice between Eurasian and European integration. However, Eurasian integration is not only a key issue for political representatives in Kiev, but for virtually all political representations of all post-Soviet states with the exception of the Baltics. Kyrgyzstan is currently closest to the Eurasian integration core formed by the member states of the Customs Union, i.e. Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. And it will probably be this country that will decide on the further direction and quite possibly even the viability of the Eurasian model of development.
