Summary/Abstract: The effective utilization of funds under the EU programmes is a good prerequisite for the economic and social development of our country. Also, this is related to increasing the competitiveness of Bulgarian enterprises. Besides the programmes directed to business, the business activity can be influenced favourably through participation in the other EU programmes. One of them is the Transborder cooperation program Bulgaria – Romania 2007-2013 from which Veliko Tarnovo region, as an area bordering Romania, can benefit.
