Summary/Abstract: This text aims to present Polish cultural dialogue with the Lebensreform movement and analysis of the causes of insufficient presence of the Polish notion of cultural studies. Difficulties in applying the concept of the history of Polish culture have been shown on the example of two projects incomplete for various reasons, Stanisław Witkiewicz and Tadeusz Miciński. The middle part of the text was devoted to the description of the most important Polish project corresponding with actions of Lebensreform, Wincenty Lutoslawski’s Eleusis. Globally also it shows the most important entering into a dialogue with Lebensreform projects interwar: Redoubt, Janusz Korczak Orphanage, Olga Malkowska’s Dworek Cisowy. Summary is an attempt to define the boundaries between concepts Lebensreform and culturalism.
