Summary/Abstract: „People among the stones is one of the best Hungarian psychological novel, full of wonderful impressionistic descriptions of the landscape, dramatic conflicts and encompassing passion dense and compact style” – said Lajos Grendel. Cecile Tormay was forgotten as an author for decades in Hungarian literary canon. In the interwar period she played the role of a great lady in everyday life and literature. Tormay is consider a renovator of the Hungarian language prose. People among the stones without special explanations are considered transnational phenomenon. Analysis of this novel is the central issue of a text.
