Summary/Abstract: The work contains a suggestion that the most frequent reason for the epistemological and methodological errors in paedagogy is its heterogeneity and complexity, as well as the terminological borrowings from natural sciences and other disciplines of social sciences. A number of activities were suggested. When these suggestions will be applied by a researcher, they will make him or her avoid mistakes. These activities include: the correction of the research process, the realization of confirmatory research which verifies subjective distortions; an analysis of concepts whose purpose is to introduce consistency in the use of these concepts; there is also a description of the ways of avoiding the errors of ecologism, individualism and reductionism; the text also presents the implications of the formulation of the research problem and it describes the ways of selecting samples as a critical stage of the research process. The work concludes with reflections about the excessive credibility lent to the results of survey-based research.
