Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the periodicals for children at the beginning of 21th century. The author comments some popular magazines for children and teenagers in the context of national tradition and the contemporary trends. Accents are shifted from the education on morals to the entertainment and plays. The contemporary periodicals give much more information in the field of science in comparison with the periodicals in 20th century. Sharing some universal values, learning trough play are small part of the trends in the modern literature and periodicals for children today.
