Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze the development of basic macroeconomic indicators in the Czech and Slovak Republic in the period 2005 - 2010. The purpose of this analysis is to provide essential input for the next part of the solution of the research project “Impact of selected public policies on regional development in Slovakia and the Czech Republic” solved by mutual cooperation between the University of Economics and Management of the Public Administration in Bratislava and the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the Masaryk University in Brno.
