Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the corpora and application of corpus approaches in lexicography, especially the application of corpus approach in neography. It traces out the beginning of corpora, their development as well as the main question of each decade related to the corpora. The article makes clear the difference between two main approaches in modern linguistics, including modern lexicography: corpus-based and corpus-driven approach and discusses the methods used for automatic extraction of lexical neologisms.
