Summary/Abstract: Already before the pandemic, digitalization was intensifying across the labor market. The expansion of remote work has increased demand for digital skills. In the context of rising life expectancy and extended working lives, such circumstances create a special barrier to the employment of older workers, as they have limited access to the internet and digital technologies and lower levels of digital skills. This chapter advocates for inclusive lifelong digital learning policies and workforce development strategies that support older adults’ employability. Methodologically, the research will be based on a comprehensive review of relevant literature and comparative analysis of national contexts, supported by selected case studies. Based on secondary data from Eurostat, the study will examine different sociodemographic variables to highlight intra-group inequalities. The analysis will focus on the implications of digital skill gaps for labor market participation, employability, and active aging.
