Summary/Abstract: The article summarizes an international academic conference held in June 2024, which was dedicated to source editions from the period of the January Uprising. It provides a detailed introduction to a volume of studies that analyzes the evolution of editorial traditions and methods for processing historical documents related to the 1863 uprising over the last three centuries. The author charts the path from 19th-century memoir publications to contemporary digital projects, emphasizing the importance of a critical approach to sources.
