Summary/Abstract: In the context of the two anniversaries of the United Nations (UN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO), this paper aims to examine whether and how the intersection between international trade and sustainability is recognized in international organizations and multilateral forums. The results of the study are classified into two categories. The first examines five approaches, recognizing sustainability in the multilateral trading system. The second goes beyond the WTO and seeks cooperation between participants on the international level. Seven criteria are identified for comparing the characteristics of two initiatives of international organizations open to representatives of the international community.
