Summary/Abstract: Digital services are an integral part of our modern lives, offering a wide range of products and services, from social media platforms to e-commerce platforms. Advances in technology and the proliferation of e-commerce have led to an increase in online shopping, but also to neë challenges for consumer protection in this digitized ecosystem. This coursework aims to analyse the dynamics of digital services contracts based on historical developments and current trends. It also aims to examine the current practices and regulations in place to ensure consumer protection in this changing digital context. Through an analysis of the current Albanian legislation and the jurisprudence of the courts, the main challenges that consumers face in relation to these contracts will be examined, as well as the legal protection mechanisms that are available. Moreover, the whole paper will focus on a comparative view with the European Union standards in this field. Drawing on various studies in the field of consumer law and examples of judicial practice, the course assignment will research and collect the essential principles for guaranteeing consumer rights in the context of digital services. The discussion will focus on key elements of digital service contracts, such as terms of use, privacy policies and payment terms, identifying potential risks and ways to address them.
