Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes how public administration contributes to sustainable development by evaluating the policies and strategies implemented by state institutions to achieve a balanced approach to economic, social, and environmental growth. Sustainable development is a worldwide aim that necessitates collective commitment from the public sector, private sector, and civil society. As an all-encompassing concept, it seeks to maintain equilibrium between economic advancement, environmental stewardship, and social welfare, tackling current challenges without jeopardizing the prospects for future generations. Public administration functions as an institutional and organizational system that enables the state's operations and enforces public policies at both national and local levels. It comprises a variety of structures and processes that are tasked with delivering public services, managing state resources, and ensuring effective and sustainable governance. Traditionally, public administration can be defined as a governmental executive mechanism that implements laws and regulations to facilitate the functioning of an organized society. This paper examines the sustainable development objectives set by the 2030 Agenda, emphasizing the concrete measures Albania has taken to reach these goals at both central and local levels. The research focuses on Albanian public administration policies related to renewable energy, waste management, sustainable transportation, and environmental protection. Additionally, the paper discusses the challenges and opportunities faced by the Albanian public sector in advancing sustainable development and offers suggestions for enhancing current practices and policies. The objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the involvement of Albanian public administration in achieving sustainable development and to assist in formulating more effective policies to secure a sustainable future for the nation. In a modern and progressive society, public administration is vital in both the creation and execution of policies that significantly impact citizens’ lives. Its efficiency and transparency are critical elements in ensuring effective governance and fostering sustainable development.
