Summary/Abstract: The research examines how artificial intelligence can support sustainable agricultural supply chains in the European Union by addressing the socio-economic consequences of algorithmic errors. It develops a theoretical mechanism design model and evaluates scenarios involving stricter thresholds, appeals mechanisms, and responsibility-sharing contracts. The findings show that stricter thresholds lower legal risk but increase wrongful exclusions, while appeals enhance fairness and shared contracts reduce overall costs. The study advances the concept of the economics of algorithmic errors and offers practical insights for designing fair, efficient, and sustainable supply chain governance.
