Summary/Abstract: The article explores effective approaches to developing reading competence in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. It highlights the participatory nature of reading, the importance o vocabulary knowledge, and the usage of real materials, drawing on the writings of academics like Grabe, Stoller, Harmer, and Nuttall. Reading skills can be applied in the classroom using real-world examples drawn from literary books. According to the study's findings, enhancing reading abilities necessitates a comprehensive, learner-centered strategy that fosters drive, independence, and communication proficiency.
