Summary/Abstract: This article examines a laboratory-based practical session as an effective pedagogical tool for shaping a positive image of the teacher among students of pedagogical universities. The session is designed to precede the students’ initial teaching practicum, during which they first encounter the realities of school life and begin to reflect on their future professional role. The article outlines the goals, structure, and types of tasks used in the session, emphasizing the integration of literary, journalistic, and cinematic sources to foster professional reflection and value-based attitudes. Special attention is given to the sociocultural context of Moldova, where recent sociological studies reveal a decline in the public perception of the teaching profession. The session aims to counteract this trend by cultivating respect for the teacher’s mission and reinforcing pedagogical identity among future educators.
