Summary/Abstract: Father Dimitrie Bejan of Hârlău, who passed away 30 years ago, is one of the still little-known witnesses of the turbulent 20th century in Romania. A closer look at his biography will certainly evoke much emotion, and the interested reader will discover a life dedicated to God and to people. He was a servant of God, for whom prison served as home for a large part of his life; he comforted many people who were suffering on the front lines, in captivity, in his ministry as a parish priest, and then in forced confinement in his parents' home. The testimonies of those who knew him personally, of those who, entrusting themselves to his prayers, receive wonderful signs from God, discreetly but increasingly draw attention to his image. It is well known that the memory of a nation retains those who dedicated themselves to their fellow human beings. If they are also adorned, in a spirit of sacrifice, with the light of faith, they pass from the darkness of history into the synaxarion of the Church, as saints and confessors of Christ.
